Collection of Drabble Prompts
There was only darkness, darkness that stretched the halls. Were they even halls? Annie couldn’t tell. All she could see was darkness. It was violent, swirling black, tendrils wrapping around her as they searched for a way in…
And the voices, always the voices…
Voices swirling around her as the darkness began to take the shape of a large bear…
"Tibbers?"
The bear with bright red eyes glared down at her.
Then it lunged, its mouth opening in a silent roar as it swallowed her whole.
—-
"Annie!"
At the name, the girl sat bolt upright. She hurled whatever was in her hands at the speaker.
"Woah!" With a startled laugh, the speaker caught the object, stepping into the light cast by the fireball Annie immediately summoned in her palm. “It’s just me. Are you…I heard your voice. You didn’t sound so good…I thought I would check on you."
Annie quickly took stock of her surroundings. She was in her room, in a bed…and there was someone in the doorway…"Lux? Is that you? What-Keep him away from me!" Annie squeaked as Lux took a step forward.
The girl paused, bemused. “Who?"
"Him!" Annie yelped, pointing at the object in Lux’s hands - Tibbers, Annie’s bear.
"Tibbers? But he’s your bear…"
"He’ll eat me!"
Lux frowned. “He most certainly will not!" she replied indignantly. “I won’t allow it! You hear me Tibbers?" she asked, lifting the bear to her eyes. “Don’t you touch Annie, or you will answer to me!"
Satisfied that the bear had heard her, Lux lowered the teddy and shot Annie a gentle look. “There. I’m sure he heard me. Tibbers wouldn’t dare."
The girl sat up, sniffling. At last she swung her legs out from under the covers and padded silently over to the girl. “You promise?" she asked, her voice small.
Lux paused to place the bear on the desk nearby, then knelt. She put her arms around the child in a gentle hug. “I promise Annie. Tibbers won’t dare touch you when I’m around. I won’t allow it."
Annie nodded, hugging the girl back tightly. When Lux stood to leave, Annie grabbed her sleeve. “Don’t go. It’s…it’s dark."
Lux nodded in understanding, and pulled up a chair by her bed. She was still there in the morning, sunlight painting over the faces of two now-sleeping girls in their bed and chair respectively.
"Excuse me, Mister! I heard it was someone's birthday today, but I never found out who's it was! Do you think you could help me?"
"Today you say? Hm, no haven’t the faintest. Let me collect my things and perhaps we can search for this deserving birthday person together hm? Per'aps we can giv'em a surprise party!
…now where did I put my brain…"
Oh oh! What about the star? Ya know, the one that looks like *! ****! Star star star star! Tell me a secret, Lux!
"A secret?"
"Well…I was once in Piltover for diplomatic reasons, and I slipped away from the others and went to the Yordle Academy of Science and Progress. I attended the classes invisibly, so that nobody would notice the extra student. I was gone the whole afternoon, and I don’t think anybody noticed, because I was never asked - I think Garen might've known though. I don't think he minded."
"Aniiiiiivvvviiiiiaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!" Annie yelled as she ran through the halls of the Institute. "Anivia! Where aaarrreeee youuuuuuu!!!! I need to talk to yooouuuu!!! ANIIIIIIIIVVVIIIIAAAAAA!!!!!!"
The Cryophoenix had just finished her lunch in the mess hall when a racket echoed down the hallway. Anivia finally recognised the source of the noise and chuckled as she made her way over to the doorway and exited into the hall, where the excitable child pyromancer was running through.
"My dear Annie, I am here. Whatever is the matter?"

"Whoa man, no, that'd be weird, get the fuck out."
