SchoolBoy Q - Man Of the Year
A wise man that I respect once told me that it's ego that drives us to achieve our dreams. It's that inner confidence inside that assures an individual that their way of thinking is the right one. Naturally, if that's the case, then its entirely possible for that individual to become blinded from reality by their ego. The opposite is true as well. A person lacking ego, lacks confidence in their own abilities.
As a young adult living in this crazy world where an inch of snow (or the threat thereof) can shut down an entire city, finding the proper balance of ego can be a difficult thing to do. Still, I think it's better to spend your days being yourself rather than trying to impress others by your ability to act like something else.
Maybe that's why I love this video. It ends with a chilled out Quincy smoking a blunt on the shoreline, offering it to you, the viewer, before the camera pans out and the scene switches to a ballin' party. No fucks were given at all. It's just a dude havin' a great time on an island with his people. I respect that.
Or maybe that respect is just my ego encouraging me to work hard so I can have droves of women chasing me around on an island one day.
So I recently started croonin' in the shower again. Frankly I don't know why I ever stopped. I mean let's face it, the shower comes equip with everything you need to put on a killer performance. The harmonics are incredible!
In other news, it looks like we're in for round 2 of the Snowpocalypse that threatened Atlanta's doorstep not even a month ago. I've loaded up on beer, pizza, homework, good music, and toothpaste so I'm ready for ANYTHING.
The option to pass out drunkenly in a corner listening to Sketchbook is my God-given right and I plan to exercise it if need be!
