one week into university! We are filled with mirth and whimsy and hope! Surely nothing bad will happen! I am writing this so I might look coldly upon it later and scoff at my naïveté but the joke is on future me because I am having an excellent time and I know the future is simply jealous! Fantastic!
Assassination by Healthcare “Reform”, Take 2.
Written on September 19, 2017
I’ve been a broken record about this over on Twitter but it occurs to me I could be doing that over here, too.
Y’all, they are trying to kill us again. Graham-Cassidy is EVEN WORSE than the last time they tried to repeal the ACA. Much worse. Women who have given birth, even if nothing went wrong, stand to have their premiums increase by over 400%. Pre-existing conditions lose all protections. It is yet another attempt to pass “get sick, please die” into law. Also “Have a uterus? Fuck you.”
And Senators are not hearing from people. There’s been a lot of well meaning (? I have my doubts about that) leftists telling everyone it isn’t ever going to pass because the last one didn’t. “Female senators will never throw PP under the bus”. Dude. Yes, they will if we don’t tell them not to. They’re not poor, they don’t get it. The ONLY reason the last one didn’t pass is we were relentless. I was yelling into senatorial voicemail well into the night, and it was by no means a sure thing.
Anyway, please call your reps.
24 hours since a very dark moment for me and 24 hours closer to things getting brighter.
Applying for perfect job number 2. (Hopefully) I'll be going from project worker at a refuge for victims of human trafficking, to project worker in social housing for the homeless. PERFECT JOB TRANSITION.
