New Adventure
I knew Esperanto existed before today, but I didn't know what it was called or anything about it.
Quick google at work for no reason whatsoever and I skim the wikipedia page. So far, so normal on a late shift. Then I click on a link and I am lost.
I register. I play a flashcard game. Then I start on the first lesson and I know I'm hooked! It reminds me of my early lessons in French or German at Primary and Secondary school which I adored.
I love how the words are familiar and foreign at the same time, and as in English there is a mix of roots. It's mostly latin and therefore romance, but there's germanic words in there too. And some new words make me laugh out loud! The word for toes translates closer to 'footfingers'.
I am going to learn esperanto.
