Immoral Compass
Walking into the space, Azerith noticed Grace with a demon. It seemed the creature had either gone too far or wasn’t giving up the information she knew it possessed, either way, they were having a bad time. The smell of singed flesh hit Azerith like a wall and to get to that level it meant the Hunter had been at this for quite a long time.
That wasn’t important right now.
He watched as the creature writhed in pain speaking in tongues no human was meant to understand. It was a little amusing the way this one operated. Not that is was someone he knew, but this one was a tough nut to crack weaving a tapestry of blasphemy and falsehoods the more Grace persisted. This was one of those that wasn’t going to go down easy, and the demon was doing the best he could to get inside her head. Unfortunately, that wasn’t getting him very far because she was good at shielding herself in this mode.
“Hitting a brick wall?” he inquired to the Demon, in a condescending tone.
They both seemed to be to be surprised, at his appearance. Well, maybe it wasn’t exactly surprising. The Demon looked a bit hopeful that the tables had now been turned. Regardless of how polished Azerith looked, he was dangerous in his own right. Grace, on the other hand, didn’t look as pleased; probably more leaning towards annoyed at his sudden appearance. Most would’ve taken offense to the way she was looking at them, but between them, it was almost like a smile.
“We need to talk,” he said as he grasped the Hunter’s hand.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t all he did, Azerith pulled her out of the space completely leaving the Demon she was torturing to stew as to when she would return. Now around them was the walls of the motel she’d been staying in for this job. Looking around at the contents of her gear scattered on the bed in the room it was clear to see that she wasn’t taking any chances with this latest one.
He was quiet for a long few moments, he could feel the exasperation growing with each passing second. Lighting himself a cigarette, he tried to shake off what he’d just learned.
“…I have had a very interesting day.”
