For @moon-berries (@lilyntlrs) for being my 50th follower, and for being amazing.
The art is crappy and I’m sorry for the very proportionate heads and bodies lmao; I drew this without a ref kill me now
This gift is about as early as I am to wake up (XD), but I hope you like it! I had to write it this way because, well, I’m in a very fluffy romantic mood right now, and you know why. I love you! <3
Lucy watched from next to Gray as Lisanna laughed, blue eyes crinkling with joy. Her gold bangles clinked as she slammed her hands on the wooden table, revelling in her victory against the Queen of Cards, Cana.
How beautiful, was all Lucy could think, unable to tear her gaze away from that white hair which contrasted so sharply and yet so exquisitely with the dark skin.
Gray smirked and nudged her. “Someone in love?”
Lucy went red. “You’re one to talk,” she muttered, throwing a glance at Natsu, who was practically in Gray’s lap with how close he was cuddling up to the Dragon Slayer.
“’Least I’m open about it,” Gray shrugged, grinning. “Just tell her.”
“But I can’t,” Lucy hissed.
“Why not?” asked Natsu.
“Because,” she huffed. “What if she doesn’t like me? What if she doesn’t like girls?”
Gray grinned. “No issues there, she came out as lesbian before Edolas.”
“I can’t confess,” Lucy argued weakly, all her excuses having been torn apart by Gray and Natsu.
“Why not?” asked Natsu.
Lucy let out a frustrated sigh and said nothing.
Erza, having popped up from nowhere with Mirajane on her arm, intercepted the conversation with, “What’s all this now? Is Lucy being a mess about Lisanna again?”
“Yeah,” chorused the boys, Natsu cuddling closer to Gray if that was even possible.
Lucy sighed, putting her head in her hands.
“It’s just, I just... Things are so good between us, and I don’t want to ruin them...” she trailed off a little sadly.
Mirajane looked at her then, and in those blue eyes so similar to Lisanna’s own, Lucy saw herself.
“It’s the things in life that you don’t do that you regret the most. If you don’t confess now, when you still have feelings, you might never get to.” she said knowingly.
Lucy looked away, not wanting to say anything.
“Mira! Erza! Natsu and Gray!” chirped a cheery voice, cutting through her melancholy. “I wanted to talk to Lucy privately if that’s okay?”
Lucy’s head shot up.
Lisanna wants to talk to me? Privately?
Her heart began to race, drumming a tattoo against her ribcage. She rose slowly, preparing to follow Lisanna to a different part of the guild, but was faced with an empty table - Gray and Natsu having bolted to another table, where they again began to cuddle just as close as before, and Erza and Mira having departed more regally, with a smile and an unsubtle wink and thumbs-up to Lucy on Erza’s part.
“So,” Lucy said awkwardly once they were alone, palms sweating. “What did you want to - mmph!”
She was cut off by Lisanna pulling her close and kissing her softly.
Lucy’s eyes flew wide in shock.
Lisanna... is kissing me?!
But she couldn’t help but relax into the lip-lock, hands sliding up to tangle in silver locks, melting into Lisanna like she’d always wanted.
The kiss was sweet and slow and gentle, and fireworks exploded in Lucy’s chest. It was just the two of them, all alone in their own world, kissing and kissing and kissing, and if the universe crashed it wouldn’t matter, because Lisanna was in Lucy’s arms and her kiss was on Lucy’s lips and she had everything she’d ever need.
And it was so much more amazing than she had ever imagined.
They pulled apart after what seemed like an eternity, Lucy’s face redder than a tomato.
“I - wha-” she stuttered.
“I like you a lot, Lucy,” Lisanna said bluntly. “And judging by your reaction to the kiss, you do too.”
Lucy’s voice was hoarse when she spoke. “Does that mean - you-”
Lisanna smiled. “Will you be my girlfriend, Lucy Heartfilia?”
Lucy gasped, tears of joy coming to her eyes.
“Yes,” she yelled, pulling Lisanna closer, burying her face in the taller girl’s shoulder. “Yes, I will,”
That night, there was a party in the guild. A banner which read, “LULI HAS SAILED!” flew proudly in the guildhall - Gray was a surprisingly talented artist.
And Lucy and Lisanna never left each other’s side for a second the whole time. All they could do was gaze into the other’s eyes, wondering how they got so lucky.
“I guess you really are Lucky Lucy,” Lisanna smiled as they danced under the stars.
“Yeah,” Lucy sighed, holding her girlfriend’s hands.
