turn your back to the wind.

that morning had set in cold, and though vivianne was inclined to stay home and keep warm, she found herself putting on a pair of slippers and heading to the boardwalk. she’d long discovered that she wasn’t one to be cooped up inside, anyway.
while she may have a preference for greenery, it doesn’t exclude her from appreciating the ocean. it's so clear and vast, she feels like she could easily get lost in it. vivianne stood in the sand, taking in the view; in every direction, the twilight blue ocean met the gray clouds in the horizon. it didn’t take long for her peripheral to spot a tall figure in the distance, and a couple of seconds to register who it was.
running at full speed- and almost tripping on a stray rock in the sand- vivianne shouts “layla!” before attaching herself onto her friend’s back, arms on her shoulders and legs locked around her waist. “why didn’t you wake me up? we could have gone here together!”
