Even their acts of kindness turn out to be cruel. Giving the masses false hope in returning home, only to have them ripped away again. Usually, such a thing would not interest the Baskerville. She has already lived her life there, died and said goodbye to people. Her place was no longer on the Baskerville estate, and she doubted her name was even whispered amongst the remaining few of the servants. If she remembered correctly, new members were always put into play once a new Glen took over.
If she is lucky – Lacie rarely relies on luck – then the rip would place her not too far in the future, nor too far back into the past, thus her presence would not be a problem for them. All things considered, she would not put it past them to do just that, though she is not sure if they have control over the tears. It might have been some sort of miracle in itself to make so many appear in the first place. The female was never big on sciences and how stuff like that functioned, so in all honesty she cared little about how they did it and more so what their intentions were for doing so.
Simple acts of kindness do not happen after months of cruelty. She decides to play along for now.
Lacie finds her rift easy enough, scattered amongst a few others. She sees the stone walls of her tower through it, curiosity beckoning her forward like it did with that girl who followed the rabbit. The call to home tugs at her heart, and she feels maybe the slightest bit sad, but it does not show.
Honestly, she is ready to turn around and leave it, save the folly for someone else to indulge in. Catching sight of an all too familiar face quickly changes her mind, all other plans are soon replaced. That’s what mothers do right? They change their plans to benefit their children, or adjust them at least? She would not know, not really. Growing up without a proper parental figure would do that.
The Baskerville isn’t much of a mother and she knows it. She cares for her children, really she does. She isn’t the best when it comes to showing emotions – love and care are a set that escapes her more than the others. Now is as good a time as any to try though. It could prove satisfactory for the both of them.
“Alice, dear heart, come with me won’t you?” she speaks, voice soft and gentle. “I would like for you to know some things about me that you have probably never heard about. Now is a good a time as any don’t you think?”
Glen on Jack hah
"Jack… our relationship with one another has change in the course of our encounters. That being said, whatever was in the past has no effect on our current relationship, even through the past one hundred years. After what had happened, someone like him should simply disappear. I don’t find the need to have him around this world any longer."
Hathor, Odin, Athena
Hathor: What brings you joy?
“I’ve always hated seeing loneliness in others, so I suppose seeing them happy is enough.”
Odin: What is your family like?
“I’ve never met a Baskerville that wasn’t odd in some way. Though for a family that isn’t bound by blood, we are bound by our loyalty to one another. Family comes first after all.”
Athena: Would you consider yourself an artist?
“Depends on what kind. I can sing fairly well, and I find that to be rather artistic."
Vesta, Ra, Hathor
Vesta: Do you like being home or do you try to get out whenever you can?
"Well...I prefer being home here, especially since it's real bad in our sector. I'm also waiting for someone to come back, so staying home is the best option."
Ra: Do you have any major responsibilities or importance?
"Yeah--probably a bit too much of both for me to actually want..."
Hathor: What brings you joy?
"....Cats."

It's time to take advantage of his small stature and slip away from the crowd unnoticed; by no means does Leo hate social gatherings as much as his master, but it does get stifling.
A quick look around. There are no servants to be seen. That's all the encouragement he needs to pad down the stairs to the reception room.
It is empty, as expected. The windows are wide open and despite the day having been blistering, the night air is chill and in two long strides he's at the window, taking it all in: the countless fireflies in the sky, the minuet drifting from the floor above, perhaps following the trail left by the ivy from window to window to window.
Nodding to himself, Leo sinks into the piano bench. Immediately, his fingers find the familiar keys and begin a dance of their own.
