At the Flower Show in my Mind, the thought was how Spring simply flies by. Here in the DMV, it can be the shortest season ever. That does not mean you cannot capture the moment. This is the first time Magnolia branches that I forced for the office actually opened. When I went to discard them, I noticed one bloom had opened and others were swollen - preparing for their debut. I could hear the conversations, the joy in the air, as people gathered in the common area near this simple arrangement. Adding flowers can lift spirits and helps with our mental health. Do flowers lift your spirits? Have you forced a branch or two of a Spring flowering shrub or tree to bring nature in? #allthingsbeautiful #alwaysthinkingaboutthegarden #allaboutthegardenlife #theflowershowinmymind #forcedbranches #springinspiration #springbloomers #wellnessfromthegarden (at Washington D.C.) https://www.instagram.com/p/CamXHAIuBuA/?utm_medium=tumblr
Had to prune quite a lot off my Forest Pansy redbud tree last week due to its proximity to the workshop’s roof. In fact, one branch had grown UNDER one of the shingles which had lifted it right up. Not the best time of year to prune since it will bloom in the next few weeks. 😔. But I saved a few smallish bits to see how they might do inside. To my delight, they are rising to the occasion quite nicely. 😊✨🌸... . . . . . . . #springiscoming #forcedbranches #redbud #forestpansy #springinside #mothernature #floraldesign #tablescape #interiordecorating (at Laburnum Park Historic District) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bu2lXa9Aa3J/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=w6jojfxl4zxx
