Questions:
Who’s your favorite entertainer? (ex. artist, singer, comedian, band, actor, etc…)
-Oh man. Let's see. Ahhhh, I can't pick. Well, I just got done watching X Factor USA 2013....and I'm going to say I really enjoyed Alex & Sierra.
What’s your passion?
-Writing and Reading.
Do you love to read? If so, why?
-I do. It started when I was fourteen. I read Twilight in a night, and was amazed to discover for the first time how much I enjoyed reading a novel-length book. It was a game changer for me. Reading is the ultimate escape for me. I just love how the characters and stories become home to me.
Who’s your favorite author? Why?
-Richelle Mead. One, she's fabulous. Two, I aspire to as great a writer as she is one day. And three, we have the same birthday, minus the year.
What’s your ideal for a good time?
-Usually, I'd say just give me a book and I'm good. But right now, I'm actually craving a wild adventure. Like, I dunno, sneaking off with my friends for a crazy weekend getaway. I miss them.
What’s your favorite thing about yourself? Physical, mental, etc.
-I actually really love my hair. It's just awesome. I can't even count how many people I know will just touch it while we're having a conversation and be like, "Omg, I love your hair." And I'm always like, "Awh, really? Thanks!" It just makes me smile. And like, personally, I love that I believe in acceptance and tolerance for all.
What’s the first thing you notice about a person?
-Their smile. A smile says everything about a person, I think.
If you could make one wish, what would it be?
-Acceptance for all.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
-Invisibility.
What’s the meaning/inspiration behind your URL?
-It's been my username for everything. I first created it in fifth grade when my friend, for whatever reason, called me Angee as a nickname. And I was ten going on eleven. So yeah. Hah.
What is the impression you get from me?
-Oh, so cool. Really. You're awesome. We both love Sydrian. Though, I'm sure you love them slightly more than me. ;) lol.
My Questions:
What's the weather like where you are? (I'm freezing rn.)
Most anticipated book of 2014?
Most acticipated movie of 2014?
Favorite quote and why?
What's your motto?
Quick, name three thing about yourself that you love.
Do you love poetry? If so, favorite poem and why?
What's one thing you can cook or bake really amazing?
Current music obsession?
Current obsession in general?
What show do you think I should watch?
first off let me say that I looked really cute okay I wore my high to low bird-print dress which has a peter pan collar and this sweet blazer and tights and cute boots and my badass leather jacket with my red hair and I felt awesome okay now that we have that out of the way
Sam and I took the train into NYC and I managed to get us downtown on the subway for lunch at my fave restaurant (Olive Tree Cafe) and even though we got slightly turned around it was okay and the weather was nice so walking wasn't too bad
and then we managed to get back uptown and saw Newsies and the cast was so good wowowowowow and we stage doored and were right up on the barricade so we got pretty much the whole cast to sign our Playbills and they really liked my hair (which was nice because people in my closed-minded town think I'm a delinquent but the Newsies cast and Chris Colfer like it so my town can suck my dick) and I got a picture with Adam Kaplan and the whole thing was unintentional like we didn't even plan on stage dooring but whoops there it is
and then I had matzo ball soup for dinner and it was delicious and we got on the subway again and made it to Penn and didn't miss our train and yeah every time I go into the city I just become more and more certain that it's where I need to go for college!!!!!!!!
My one-shot for Angie, for the Glee Secret Santa. I hope you enjoy, dearest!
Title: Every Timne You Come and Go
Rating: the G-est of Gs
Characters: Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson
Word Count: ~2200
Warnings: n/a
Summary: Blaine keeps disappearing. Kurt wants to know where.
Kurt first noticed about two weeks after they began dating. Prior to confessing their feelings, Kurt and Blaine had often spent evenings studying together, as the courses at Dalton were quite a bit more difficult than what Kurt had experienced at McKinley. However, as they had no defined “obligation” to spend time with the other, it wasn’t quite as unusual for Blaine to simply up and disappear for hours at a time. Kurt thought nothing of it, assuming that his friend was doing work in his room, or spending time with other friends. They weren’t exclusive and it certainly wasn’t his job to keep track of someone who was just a friend.
By the time they’d moved to boyfriend status, though, Kurt had become curious. Blaine spent as much time with him as possible, soaking in the honeymoon period of their relationship for as long as they could. When he disappeared, Kurt knew it wasn’t to do homework, and if he were hanging out with friends, he’d certainly just tell his boyfriend, wouldn’t he? So where could Blaine be going?
It wasn’t that Kurt was jealous or suspicious or anything of the sort - he just didn’t understand where Blaine could be disappearing to all the time. Honestly, he was more concerned than anything else.
Kurt decided to wait, to see if Blaine would tell him on his own. Over the next month, he noticed a routine of sorts. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Blaine left from around 4pm until 8pm, when he’d call Kurt or stop by his dorm to kiss him goodnight. Blaine always showed up freshly showered and worn-looking, almost drained of energy. Kurt had no idea what to make of it.
Once it became clear that Blaine wouldn’t be revealing his mystery destination any time soon, Kurt decided it was time to take matters into his own hands. On Monday afternoon, Kurt approached Blaine, knowing full well that his boyfriend would need to be leaving immediately in order to fit the odd schedule he followed.
“Hey Blaine? D’you want to come watch a movie in my room tonight? I know that neither of us have a lot of work to get done, and I just thought that …” Kurt stopped, seeing the slightly stricken look on his boyfriend’s face. He refused to back down, though, standing in the hallway as the slightly awkward tension in the air grew thicker. Blaine looked as if he were having an internal argument, trying to make a difficult decision.
“I, um, can’t. Not tonight? But maybe tomorrow, okay? I’ve gotta go. I’ll see you later.” Blaine swooped in to plant a quick kiss to Kurt’s cheek, and proceeded to tear off down the hallway, clearly a man on a mission. Kurt watched his retreating frame, wondering what was so important that Blaine had to rush off and make a spectacle of himself.
~*~*~*~*~
Kurt sat on his bed and thought of all the possibilities. They were disturbingly implausible. He just couldn’t come up with a good reason for Blaine’s absence. He decided to meet the other boy in his room at the time when he usually returned, to maybe get some answers. He trusted that Blaine wasn’t misbehaving or doing anything bad; they were best friends, and trust was a cornerstone of their relationship. He just wanted to know where Blaine was going all the time - primarily curiosity, but Blaine’s nervous reaction earlier had set him on edge.
When Kurt knocked on Blaine’s door at 7:45, he heard a muffled thump, followed by a muttered swear word. “One second!” Blaine finally reached the door and unceremoniously yanked it open, freezing when he saw his boyfriend and staring with a blank look upon his face.
“Um. Blaine? Are you going to let me in, or are you going to stare at me all night?” When Blaine didn’t respond, Kurt gently pushed inside and shut the door behind him. The room had an odd smell that Kurt couldn’t quite place, and Blaine was wearing a very dirty pair of jeans with a simple t-shirt. His hair was ungelled, and he looked altogether disheveled.
Blaine seemed to snap out of his daze as Kurt sat them both on the bed, looking intently at the other boy. Blaine’s gaze abruptly shifted from blank to horrified, as he took in his appearance and the state of his room. Kurt continued to gaze at him expectantly, not saying a word.
It was if a dam broke inside Blaine, and all the words came spilling out in a rush. He worked himself up, speaking more rapidly as he continued, never stopping for a breath. “Oh God, Kurt, I, um. I didn’t want you to see this. I mean, I know how seriously you take cleanliness and how important hygiene is to you, which I totally get, because, like, showering is important. And I didn’t want you to be disgusted with me because it can be really dirty and gross sometimes so I tried to hide it from you, but you’re so smart, of course you are, and you knew something was up and I just, oh my God, you’re going to break up with me because it’s so gross and -”
“Woah, Blaine! Slow down, okay? I’m not planning on breaking up with you - I just want to know where you’ve been disappearing to, alright? I’m worried that something’s wrong.”
The panicked look couldn’t completely leave Blaine’s eyes, but it diminished slightly as he processed Kurt’s words. He took a deep breath before continuing.
“I … horseback ride. I have a horse named Lady and I ride competitively, so I have to do a lot of training to keep up with other people in my division. I was worried that if you found out, you'd be disgusted because it can be such a dirty sport sometimes. Of course I wasn't trying to hide anything, I just didn’t want you to be uncomfortable.."
Kurt blinked for a moment, taking in what Blaine had said to him. Of all the possibilities he had tried to consider, this was not one of them. He looked at Blaine, who was nervously twisting his hands in his lap - he was obviously anxious about how Kurt would react. Kurt took Blaine's chin in his hand and made Blaine look at him.
"I don't mind if you ride. If it's something that you love, then I'll support you no matter what. Although I would like to see you ride sometime, if that's okay?"
Blaine gulped and nodded, albeit hesitantly. Kurt figured it was a start.
~*~*~*~*~
Blaine wasn't sure how he got in this position - well, that wasn't strictly true; logically, he knew exactly what had happened and every facet of the situation which got him there, but he still couldn't truly believe that it had all come together the way it had. He was used to frosty, impersonal Christmases and being forced to beat a hasty retreat to his bedroom. Yet here he was, laying under the Hummels' tree, Grey's Anatomy style.
Thumping vibrations rattled the wooden floor, followed by an abrupt thump as Kurt approached the tree and dropped to his knees beside Blaine. Wiggling underneath and nearly elbowing Blaine in the chest, he settled in and gazed up at the lights with his boyfriend.
Glancing over and stifling a giggle, Blaine just couldn't resist making a comment on their situation. "You have pine needles in your hair," he whispered, trying his hardest not to break the moment by laughing outright. Kurt snorted and laced his fingers with Blaine's.
"I think you would too, if the gel wasn't protecting you. Besides, who's going to see? Finn and my dad know better than to comment, and I'm pretty sure Carole would just pick them out for me." They both fell silent at that, lost in their thoughts and the tree glistening above them.
As Kurt ran his thumb over Blaine’s hand, all Blaine could feel was grateful. He knew it was quite an act of hospitality for the Hummel-Hudsons to take him in for the weekend, especially for a holiday. It didn’t help that every time he tried to repay them by helping, they would shoo him out and insist that he go and “see what the other boys are up to, sweetie,” or “relax and enjoy your break, son.” Blaine had finally resigned himself to simply soaking up their kindness and keeping their son happy and hopefully out of their hair.
“Blaine?”
Kurt’s low murmur broke Blaine’s train of thought; he turned toward his boyfriend and raised an eyebrow, still attempting to stay in their moment beneath the tree. He was just glad no pine needles had landed in their eyes yet.
“Can I come with you when you go ride in a little bit? I know we haven’t really talked about it much, but I was serious when I said I wanted to see you in action; besides, the thought of you in those pants is kind of killing me slowly.”
Blaine thought it over for a moment. People saw him ride all the time at shows and at his barn while he was training - why should this be any different? And anyways, why deprive Kurt of the image of him in skin-tight pants?
“Sure. We leave in 20 minutes.”
~*~*~*~*~
By the time they reached the barn, Kurt was rethinking his decision to accompany his boyfriend, but not because of the skin-tight pants. God, definitely not. But said boyfriend was currently about to bounce out of his seat with excitement, and Kurt wasn’t so sure how safe this could be (for either of them).
Blaine parked the car and turned to Kurt, grabbing his helmet and cell phone from the back seat. “Okay, I’m only doing some basic schooling on the flat today, so I’m going to go tack up and I’ll meet you in the indoor ring in 10 minutes?” He pointed to a large building up a gentle slope with a set of huge horse-sized doors and a smaller, human-sized door. Kurt just shook his head and tried not to think about the fact that he would most likely come out of this experience covered in barn dirt. Blaine practically launched himself out of the car and disappeared into the barn as Kurt settled in to wait.
He shoved the smaller door of the riding ring open 10 minutes later and promptly tripped on the virtually invisible 2-inch step up into the viewing area. He windmilled his arms and righted his balance, blushing as he tried to collect his shattered dignity and seated himself in one of the cheap plastic chairs.
When he finally composed himself and looked around, his attention was immediately drawn to Blaine - who was sitting on an absolutely beautiful horse and riding around the ring. The horse - Lady, he thought - was silvery gray with a long black mane and pearly gray tail, which swished agitatedly as Blaine directed her in circles to even their pace. She was also clearly misbehaving.
Blaine, on the other hand, was the very picture of composure. Kurt was astounded at the complete 180 that his attitude had taken since they had left the car. Blaine barely reacted to his horse’s apparent hissy fit, which quite frankly frightened Kurt for his boyfriend’s safety, as there was a rather lot of kicking involved from both horse and rider. Blaine kept moving forward and guided her back to the outer edge of the ring where they belonged, obviously unfazed by Lady’s antics. They moved fluidly and quickly; the horse was as spirited as she was beautiful.
After about 40 minutes of observing the pair, Kurt realized that he had probably never seen Blaine so content. He was focused and precise, but completely free at the same time. He figured that it must be a thrilling experience, controlling and bonding with an animal the way that Blaine did. His commitment and passion for the sport were something that he didn’t talk about much, but looking at him now, he knew it must have been personal. Something so important and close to him, it couldn’t be shared with others. The fact that Kurt was there at all was monumental.
At the end of the workout, Blaine took Lady right up to the barrier separating the viewing area from the ring and beckoned Kurt over. He patted Lady on the shoulder and looked to Kurt expectantly.
“Well? What did you think?”
Kurt gazed up at his mounted boyfriend and lifted a hand toward the horse, stroking her neck when Blaine nodded that he could touch. “You were amazing. I can’t even imagine how you control her so well when she messes around with you like that. It was just amazing.”
Blaine blushed and fiddled with Lady’s mane. “I trust her, and she trusts me back. We work together - I’m glad you got to see it. I’m … happy. With her. And with you.”
Kurt couldn’t help the smile that burst across his face at Blaine’s words. His boyfriend really was the sweetest.
“Well, Mr. Anderson, you’d better get down here so I can show you how much I appreciate that. And you. And those pants.”
end a/n: Huzzah! I was inspired by those as-yet-unexplained polo trophies in Blaine's bedroom. I'd love to see Blainers with some horsies.
Lady is based off the horse I ride regularly, and though I don't have a photo of the horse herself, she basically looks like this.
