01.04.2024 "Too many people, even intelligent ones – no, especially intelligent ones – presume innocence when they meet weirdness. “Bit odd, but I mustn’t let my prejudices cloud my judgement.” Then they over-correct, and what d’you get? A kid disappears off the face of the earth, and the whole story’s bloody odd, but the robes and the mystic bullshit get in the way, and nobody wants to look like a bigot, so they say, “Strange, going paddling in the North Sea at five in the morning, but I s’pose that’s the kind of thing people like that do. Probably something to do with moon phases.”’ " Robert Galbraith - The Running Grave

I decided to go mushroom picking with my mom and grandma today despite hot and dry weather (not ideal for mushroom growth). I found few edible ones but when I lost sight of my mom and granny I stumbled upon a fairy ring and roe-deer’s scull! It might be a sign, fingers crossed not bad luck.
I am of the forest
Of timber and twine
Moss soaked in sap
Vines creeped around trunks
-
I am of the forest
Of blood and lust
Wild creatures set out unto the night
Moaning in ecstacy of berries so sweet
-
I am of the forest
Of hunters green and soft fur
Jagged teeth and bloody smiles
Slow creaks of woods whisper
-
I am of the forest, and nothing more
December. Winter is here and frost has kissed the land. The woodland has bared its branches and lies in cold and pale beauty ❄🍂
