Which member of their family did your character(s) get along with best?
[Answerin’ a thing, then homework, then answering another thing, then more homework. So here is the first thing I am answering, because I am still thinking about the other thing.
As far as family relationships go, Hun actually got along really well with his oldest brother, D.J. Whereas his second-oldest brother tended to pick on him, and his older sisters really didn’t pay him much mind, D.J. would help Hun with his homework and sometimes even his chores, if they were too taxing for a young boy to do properly. D.J. even helped Hun catch his first pokemon. Hun bore a grudge against D.J. after he left for his trainer journey, and often blamed him as the reason ever saw any merit in what Hun did; since then, they’ve been on bad terms, though Hun regretted it.
Before Archer joined Team Rocket, he got along very well with both of his parents, and though he didn’t always agree with their rules or reasoning, he loved both of them dearly- he still does, even. But he kinda set his dad on fire, and when he showed up on his parents’ doorstep a year later all like “8D I’M IN TEAM ROCKET NOW AREN’T YOU PROUD” they kinda disowned him, and really, any bridges that could have been used to return to an earlier point in the relationship have long since been burnt. Archer doesn’t consider himself to have family besides Tabitha and to some extent, the Sakaki family and his fellow executives anymore.
Tab’s relationship with his immediate family is something he considers frustrating as hell. He’s very distant from his parents, now, and even though they keep asking him to at least come visit, he attempts to avoid speaking with them in person any way he feasibly can, his favored method of communication with them being hand-written letters. The problem really is, his parents don’t understand him. They had a hard time understanding his diagnosis (OCD), and more often than not any conversations involving it (usually Tab being stubborn and hoarding ALL THE THINGS or freaking out when they sat in places they normally didn’t sit) ended with frustration for both parties.
His parents were also highly religious, and though they honestly tried to be as supportive as they could when Tab finally came out, there was a lot of “hey Tab we want you to get conversion therapy”s and “one day you’ll grow out of it”s and even a couple “i don’t want my son to go to hell”s. They had his best interests at heart, I guarantee it, but they didn’t understand that Tabitha felt so differently than they did about it. And so they grew distant, Tab doesn’t like visiting them, and they wonder what went wrong. Now, as far as extended family goes, Tab gets along swimmingly with Archer; until Tab joined Team Magma, Archer was his hero, and his all-time favorite person. He’d go to the man with his problems when he could, and was always super excited when Archer came to visit.
so that is that and that is how they get along with their families kindasortamaybe. I’m still working on Hun’s family dynamic. vwv; Ah, well. Another day maybe I’ll have more about him.]
