He nodded a little, it would be nice for that to be it. He gave Priestly a thankful smile, "Thank you. If you see her, you care to give me a call? I'll let you know if I hear from her."
"Of course, man." He gave the other a little nod, then thumbed back to the kitchen. "Gotta get back, but I'll see if Bron knows anything.
"I have no idea." Alec took a deep breath, "I wish I did. I was hoping for here or maybe with Asher. I know how much she cares about him, and how she likes to spend time with him."
He nodded. "They both do. Maybe she forgot about a play practice or something?" he offered, hoping to calm the other a little.
Alec shook his head, he really didn't want to get Asher involved. He didn't know much about the kid, but he didn't want to drag him into what was going on. "You can try if you like, but Bethany told me if she wasn't here than she was gonna call Bronwyn." He took a deep breath, "Just some things dealing with Amber's real family."
Priestly nodded. "Gimme a minute and I'll call," he said and stepped away for a moment. He tried not to worry his son, but he was worried and soon they would both be. He hung the phone up and looked at Alec. "Where do you think she is?"
Alec frowned, that had been the answer he hadn't wanted to hear. His worry skyrocketed. "She's not at the house, and I can't get a hold of her. Some stuff has been happening and so she's been staying in the house. But when I got home she was gone."
"What do you mean some stuff's been happening? Should I call Asher? Maybe they're together." He furrowed his brow and moved to pull his phone out to call his son.
Alec nodded back to Priestly, there was a sick feeling settling in his chest at the fact that it seemed like he was the only one here. His hopes had been high that Amber was at the bakery, "Is Amber working tonight?"
Priestly raised an eyebrow and slowly shook his head. "No, why? Is something wrong?" he asked, growing more concerned now.
When Alec returned from his hunt to find Amber not there, he knew of only a few places to go, and the first stop was Priestly's Sweets. He hoped that his daughter was simply working and had forgotten to tell him or Bethany. He stepped in, waving slightly to Priestly. "Hey, I have a question."
Priestly was working in the back. It was slow and annoying him to no end. He couldn’t figure out how suddenly he wasn’t having any side effects anymore. Doc said the side effects could just come and go, but he was still worried. He glanced into the store and gave the other a ‘sup nod before setting the piping bag down. “Hey, what’s up?”
