"For Lovers" I don't need another climbing partner, I don't need another ski buddy, I don't need another coffee date, I don't need another travel mate, I don't need more company for dinner, I don't need another person to discuss books with, Or art with, Or music with, Or poetry with... I have all those people already. I don't need a partner who fulfils all these roles. I need a partner who sees the world with a similar perspective to how I see it. Who recognises the potential to create something remarkable. A visionary, like me, who wants to find a better way of doing things and a more beautiful way of living. A more eloquent mode of self-expression. And that's you. I wasn't looking for a climber, I wasn't looking for a skier, I wasn't looking for a mountain man. I was looking for a visionary. I called you in, not to fit the prerequisites of my interests but to expand and elaborate on the true desires of my soul. I needed someone who would inspire me to do things differently, excite me to make changes, take my hand and leap into the faith of knowing there is something greater out there for us still. You didn't have to change anything. You didn't need to take up my interests or give up your own. You didn't have to alter your ambitions and dampen your dreams. You just needed to be you, to be the promise of your own potential and show me that it was available for me too. You only have to continue with your example.
