mini portfolio (o)/ ˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗

I completed a mini portfolio in my first three weeks of the term for my first assignment. The portfolio was 20 drawings split into 4 sets of 5, each inspired by a stimulus; it was interesting. I also had to explain my design choices, this was difficult omg ✌︎㋡.

the stimuli I chose were:

energetic winds of change - Anne as the model. I picked blue and yellow because they seemed like energetic colours. I went all out with the shape language of winds and swirls, I got so into this I forgot how to make clothes that make sense. The first two are nothing burgers on the design front but pretty to look at I guess (ᵕ—ᴗ—)

Lust for peace - (human)Gorrister as the model what does this even mean? like oh nothing gets me going more than nuclear disarmament I guess? I decided to just do doves and dove wings because I wasn't sure how to merge the idea of world peace with lingerie

small issue with the doves and whatnot, I concluded in my notes that they would need to be taxidermy. thus requiring an act of violence to occur to create peace themed clothing. ( ദ്ദി ˙ᗜ˙ )

Finding hope in mediocrity - with Marrick as the model. I decided to draw clothes in the same colours/that gradually get more fancy? I didn't really know what to do.

Resist conformity through beauty - Naarah my favourite set, I felt like I actually had ideas and wanted to draw(because this was a ruse, I was just drawing Naarah's forms in clothing inspired by their in universe clothing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) sneaky me)

Naarah ..( ˶óᯅò) !!

warning: non sexual nudity with genitals - they aren't human genitals though. Naarah is the daughter of Carvan and the main antagonist of CorvidKnight.

My brother and I worked a lot on Naarah's designs, she is a witch and has a feminine body but we didn't want to lean into the 'sexy evil woman' look. Naarah is so much more than that, she's the daughter of god, the heir of this world. Naarah is the archfiend and the archfiend doesn't wear bustiers, Naarah doesn't usually wear clothes at all, why would she? she rides around on a giant hag and wields a sword made of flesh. my brother and I were set to the task of making a feminine villain who is naked but not sexualised - we went eldritch horror. Naarah is seven entities, Naarah herself and her six forms(one for each of her six fingers)

original Naarah is humanlike but not quite - Carvan made her to be humanish.

I drew a detailed full body anatomical drawing of her with her weapon, back and hand and another couple drawings (with Gorrister for scale)

her armour is like that of a Crustacean. The sword of Naarah is a living creature called Rhaun, when not in use as a weapon it runs around and is a steed for other characters.

I drew the beast twice, once like this and once as more of a sexy druid - that design was scrapped because it wasn't beastly enough. (apologies for shitty notepad)

I really like the feathers framing her breasts, its very birdlike but not beastly or scary enough. It could be her de monstered form?? I don't think Naarah would make herself more palatable though⋆✴︎˚｡⋆

the more beastly design might not even be final, my partner thinks she should be more muscular.

and the heretic, the form most like Carvan. I drew her in full colour at the request of my philosophy bros, they love Naarah. Next to her is Carvan, her father for comparison. 𖹭.ᐟ

Naarah is a bit of a freak and so is Carvan

while I was making this post I drew up some more, mostly of the holy knight because my brother and I were talking about her walking across the seabed.
