you sang loudly, twirling yourself around on the hardwood floors. chris chuckled from the kitchen barstool as he watched you flow freely around the lounge room, leaping and twirling, spinning and dipping as the lyrics from the movie left your lips
“WE SET A COURSE TO FIND... A BRAND NEW ISLAND EVERYWHERE WE ROAM...” you continued, swaying your arms in the air. you looked over to see chris at the bar on his laptop, laughing at your singing voice and rapid movements
you ran and slid over to him and into the kitchen, grabbing his shoulders and singing as if he was thrown in to a musical. “AWAY, AWAY, WE KEEP OUR ISLAND IN OUR MIND.. AND WHEN IT’S TIME TO FIND HOME, WE KNOW THE WAY.”
chris continued to laugh as you shook his shoulders, only enticing you to laugh as well. a second later you grabbed his hands, him protesting in the midst but you kept on singing, and pulled him to his feet
“AWAY, AWAY.. WE ARE EXPLORERS, READING EVERY SIGN.” you boasted loudly, taking chris’ hand and holding it above your head as you twirled. he couldn’t believe you, an adult and grown woman, was singing the soundtrack to a disney movie. but in many ways it didn’t surprise him. you pulled him into you, twirled him, and danced vibrantly
“WE TELL THE STORIES OF OUR ELDERS IN A NEVER ENDING CHAIN. AWAY, AWAY....” you then stopped and leaned into him, breathing heavily and laughing.
chris laughed and placed his hand on your lower back. “i should have never took you to see Moana,”
