terror filled elena’s eyes as she glared up at her adversary. silver hair somehow shimmering in a lightless cave. her body ached from the inflicted injury, yet she could still move. she had no reason to feign a brave face—yet she still tried to hide her fear behind amber eyes. her boss 𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐫 next to her, and it was now her turn to suffer the wrath of this jenova spawn, ❝ go to hell ! ❞ she hissed, courage still slipping through her terrified state—rage managed to take its place as her eyes lingered on tseng’s body. please still be alive. her prayers would fall deaf on god's ear. 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥’𝐬 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧, 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫. pain coursed through her body—there was no escape for her. even if she could manage to escape death’s clutches, she would never leave tseng to his fate. she gradually crawled her way to tseng’s side, kadaj looking over her aching body. 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬. she loathed it. kadaj and his ilk made sure she couldn’t move while they beat tseng unconscious—reno and rude managed to escape unscathed with their target. mission complete. she coughed, and blood filled her mouth, which she spat out. she fought back the urge to cry—these men saw her as less than a threat. she was nothing. i’ll show you. she swallowed hard, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞. she would not admit defeat. his serpent eyes laughing as she struggled, the more he stared, the angrier she felt. like a burst of hot flame, she shot to her feet to catch him by surprise. she swiftly pulled her fist back, so to make contact with his chest.
it was no good. her fist lunged forward, but his movements were too quick—𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐭. her gut was met with cold steel, as his twin katana pierced right through her. she felt her body go limp, hanging from his blade, her hazy eyes managed to steal a glance from his mako infused stare—still laughing. pathetic. her body was tossed aside, his laughter filling her ears as it reverberated throughout the cave. 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭 with the cavern wall. the raging fire inside her began to die out, flickering it’s last flames. her last images were of him—tseng. she longed to be near him, but her body failed to move—her hand wouldn’t reach out to him. 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐚𝐳𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲 until it finally went dark.
