Good grief what a day to remember. An early train from Forsinard to the remote, request-only stop at Altnabreac....and then, under sunny skies with hardly any wind at all, walking 15 miles across Europe's largest blanket bog back to Forsinard. Not actually across the bog, mind, but along the dirt tracks that snake their way around the lochans and pools ;-)
It wasn't my first visit to this corner of the world but even so, there was still a lot of this today. Standing, staring, spinning around 360 to take it all in. Flow Country is, quite simply, on a scale unlike anything else in the UK.
