Yesterday I finished these earrings from free form cabs of this insanely nice (and, importantly, LIGHT) silicified wood collected from a locality near the Clackamas River found by @pnw_rocktography. These are the first rocks I have actually finished, and they went to my mum @englishwoman55 yesterday (conveniently late, as they were supposed to be finished for her birthday months ago). Next up are an unconventional and chunky pair I'm working on for @kkatieclarkk, which were also made from 2 halves of the same bit of rock. Gosh this stuff polishes up nicely. Also, I've been trying to come up with a better name for this account for years, and now it's taking on a new urgency as I prepare to do sales and collabs. Went out to the opal wood deposit one last time before the water takes hold, and it was a DOOZY! And I don't use that word lightly. This is my prize, an absolutely insane solid 5-10 pounds of blue, yellow, green and fire opal. I can't believe this is all the same bit of rock, and the colors can't be overstated.
