Because our (grand)parents-in-law are so far away we don't see each other often, so I always forget that our Papa ( + partner + caregiver ) has a great relationship with his biomom and has like, actually explained our relationship and she's supportive.
Like she calls herself our grandma :"""3 I just stopped for a moment to bathe in euphoria after our Papa said on the phone "sorry for the background noise, I'm also making my son dinner." It still caught me off guard to be referred to as such directly to someone we know and it's so wonderful aaaa
