WiLTi: Other People
I'm willing to bet my last dollar that everyone at some point in their life will utter the phrase (or a similar one) "Why don't more people pay attention to those around them?!". It is often said in anger or contempt because that isn't what they really mean. Usually what is meant by that phrase is "Why don't more people pay attention to the fact that I'm around them?!". Most of our anger comes when something happens with us as a target such as having a prank played on you, but when it is on someone else you can see it as funny. We need to stop assuming that regular acts of perceived aggression are targeted at us specifically and let them slide because it's probably the other person who is having a really bad day right now and if you're nice to them, maybe you can end up making both parties days better.
