There's just so much going on here. Tweety Bird, dropped whole cloth onto a standard lampshade pattern (is it supposed to be Prairie School? sometimes it's hard to tell). The base, which is also just bog standard "yeah, it'll do," the shit glass, and also just...the very very poor quality execution which is not surprising at all because copper foil and especially lamp shades are just never made well.
I love shit like this. Literally the discarded bottom section of a full sized window. People have brought stuff like this in and wanted it restored and we're always like 'sure,' but honestly it's never the good stuff. This is *almost* interesting but isn't actually painted well enough to be worth much. If it was a Franz Meyer piece then maybe, but it's not.
What's really quite funny is it looks, from the corners of the architecture section, like someone yanked the memorial/dedication/explanatory scroll off and then filled in with those weird triangles and what looks like broken border bits, which is very interesting, because that usually gets left on, but maybe someone thought it was interesting.
Anyway, don't feel sad this window got broken up, it's not that nice.
It bothers me a little when my boss wants me to look into doing some marketing stuff. It means we’re thin on jobs.
Tomorrow I get to inform my boss that if I have to build another damn window in which every row and column must line up exactly I will begin throwing things. I was already sick and fucking tired of those windows, and then J. was all “Look at the windows they brought in today!”
And I did.
And every single fucking row and column in the new windows will have to fucking line up.

Today I go in to work only to discover that last night my boss’ brother accidentally started a fire in the trash can and it melted into a puddle of plastic and trash.
