Had a thought about Maul saying some weird shit, using words no one actually knows the meaning of and Fox just puts his fingers over Maul's lips and "Two syllables or less, please. I'm so fucking tired right now and I cannot puzzle out what you just said."
Maul looks absolutely flummoxed by this and when Fox moves his fingers he says "You are lucky that I hold even a modicum of respect for-"
Fox puts his fingers back over Maul's mouth. "Shhh. I'm slightly shot and running on stims. Small words. I beg you."
"We're almost back at the ship... Commander."
Fox laughs, exhausted and on the edge of hysterical. "I'll let that one slide."
Trying to decide who I should pair Maul up in Peace Born From Shadow And Light. Of course I can always keep Maul single, but where is the fun in that? So here are some people I am thinking about.
Mace Windu, Cad Bane, Fox, Jesse, Crosshair, Pre Vizsla (that will be more past stuff then present), and Hondo Ohnaka. Why these guys? Well here is my list.
Mace Windu- Is a skilled force wielder. We see him being kind, especially when someone is stressed. He is a dang softy to kids. Is he stern? Yes, but he isn't mean. So I think they could work.
Cad Bane- They have worked together in the past. They can bond over their dislike for Obi-Wan.
Fox- Fox needs to break rules for his boyfriend.
Jesse- He loves his brothers, just like Maul loves Savage. Also Jesse is a goober and Maul needs that in his life.
Crosshair- Do I need to explain this one?
Pre Vizsla- Drama~
Hondo Ohnaka- Cause it would be funny as heck. Orange tabby and black cat vibes lol

Fox gets to investigate one Maul Opress, owner of the Dark Side Gym, who is absolutely not going to admit that it's a money laundering operation.
This fic was written for @swrarepairs. I initially conceived of it as a "Stranger Than Fiction" AU, but then realized that Maul is definitely doing illegal shit and not running a bakery, and every run-through I did of the plot options stripped out more of the fantastical elements of the movie until we ended up with what is basically an IRS/Mafia AU.
Which is very much a 'me' kind of fic. The POV character is in the IRS. What could be more me?
In the original concept where I was still sticking more closely to the movie, the literature professor would have been Jocasta Nu, and the author-and-assistant duo would have been Obi-Wan and Satine (though I scrapped that before I decided which was which).

“So…”
Fox groans a little. He is knee-deep in the post-Tax Day audits, and he does not need more on his plate. The Prestor-Organa joint filing is already taking up most of his time. It’s not supposed to be his job, but the higher-ups are always looking for something to be off in these files, because there is just so much going on that they must be hiding something.
They’re not. Fox checked. So many times.
(They’re good people, he reminds himself, even if the complexity of their investments and charities and properties requires at least a full week to do an initial audit, every year.)
“Cody,” Fox greets. He swivels the chair to face his cousin, but doesn’t get up. “What do you want?”
“Rex would like a favor,” Cody says, “which is to say, he got a tip but doesn’t have any kind of warrant to actually investigate.”
Cody’s younger brother is very much in the business of investigating organized crime. Luckily, so is Fox.
“He thinks it’s a front?” Fox asks.
“Possible money laundering, but might be a base of operations,” Cody says.
“Okay,” Fox says, turning back to his screen. He waves a hand dismissively. “He knows the proper channels.”
“So I can tell him you’re fine with him requesting you?”
“Yeah, whatever.”

Fox had not grown up dreaming of becoming a ‘tax man.’ He doubted anyone did, unless they had a parent already in the business somehow. Fox had given it a passing thought during a sophomore-year history class, where the teacher had been sick, and the sub had rolled out a boxy TV on which to watch some documentary on Al Capone. The fact that tax evasion had done in such a big name had been funny.
Years had passed, and Fox got to college, started on a criminal justice degree, and got… disillusioned, kind of, with the apparent realities of prosecution. That, plus the costs of law school, had made him doubt.
And in the middle of that doubt, he’d caught a newscast about a local laundromat chain getting shut down by federal law enforcement for money laundering.
Fox had listened to the anchor gloss over the IRS’s involvement in identifying the issue, and decided to look into what was needed to join the IRS Criminal Investigation department.
It’s not the most glorious work. It’s a whole lot of sitting at a desk and running numbers.
But he’s good at it, and that’s really what matters.

Since it's probably the only Maul ship that isn't a rarepair, it's by far the one with most stories, heres some I like:

Basically Maul gets turned into a luxury whore after his loss against Obi-Wan. (He doesn't lose his legs here) And during a diplomatic mission he is "gifted" to Obi-Wan for a night. Very good, a bit bittersweet but once they get pass the past it gets steamy really fast.
Cut the Lie Short by Withercrown. (Single work)
Obi-Wan went to Mandalore and they are living together after the fall of the republic. The tags says light angst but I think it's more of a medium angst, goes from personal opinion really. Mostly oral, since Maul keeps his body from canon, a bit of dom Obi-Wan. Surprisingly sweet.
Rite of Oblivion by Withercrown. (Single work)
Obi-Wan saves Maul from Lotho Minor, also mostly oral, bits of dom/sub, spider legs, quite feral Maul, quite sweet.

Heats are a things but not exactly omegaverse, Maul does feel mostly like a omega and Obi-Wan like a beta. Jedi Maul, alien genitalia, really sweet while also being multiple rounds.

An actual whole series with three works. Dark Obi-Wan as he is a traitor to the jedi by being an informant to the sith. Padawan Obi-Wan X Apprentice Maul. First work is usual smut with a bit of bondage, second is male lactation (I'm sure you can tell from who) and third is oral. All really good.
