Crafting a new hab (habitat/housing) for the witch’s latest (not in photographs) jumping spider.
“Why are you always so messy?”
“Ehh... big clumsy human hands, I guess? You know you don’t have to help. I can clean it up when I’m done.”
“I don’t mind. I like keeping busy anyway.” Speck has been waiting for an opportunity to try out her new broom anyway. Oddly enough Basil and Harmaa hadn’t made any messes!
“Well, I do appreciate it. It’s nice to spend time together, you and me.”
“Alright, substrate is in, and now for the climber! Hope it fits good.”
“Give it here.”
“Sure will! Just the right size.”
“I’m getting good at guessing. This is the fifth hab, after all.”
“Hee-hee, that’s a good thing then. You’re gonna be an expert pipe cleaner twister!”
“Heh... not the skill set I expected.”
“Alright, now for the moss! I managed to get these cute bunny moss! Mosses?”
“Meeses?”
“Mooses?” And some giggles all around.
“They are super cute! But you need to cut back on your online shopping...”
“Hey, I got these at the dollar store!”
Speck is the one to wind the climber on the moss, small agile hands... nubs?
“Alright! That looks amazing, you did great. Let’s put it in!”
After a few good pokes with the stick the moss and climber are set solidly in the substrate.
“That looks like a good safe hab! Kevin is gonna love it!”
“Isn’t Kevin a boys name?”
“Uh... yeah?”
“But the spider is a juvenile. You don’t know what it is yet!”
“Ohhhhh! Yeah, see we found it in a mailbox, and our mailman, Kevin, just retired. So I named it after him!”
“Awww!”
“One last thing, some bling!”
“Oooh those are pretty!”
