10. Two characters who work together
Turnip and Brandy run a small apothecary together in Firebird's Roost! Brandy's in charge of growing and harvesting the ingredients, which Turnip then processes into medicine and distributes to their customers. They also keep a colony of bees in their garden, both as pollinators and a source of honey to sweeten bitter concoctions.
When they first started working together, they didn't really get along. Turnip, being a Fae, expressed their emotions in a completely different way from Brandy, and neither one could really communicate with the other without some awkward tonal misunderstanding. They kind of just tolerated each other until it was time to go home for the night.
Eventually, though, Brandy realized that he'd picked up on some of Turnip's body language and what it meant, and learned to mimic the expressive movements of their frill with his big ol' fennec fox ears. Not only did this make it much easier for them to talk with each other, but Turnip was super touched to see Brandy going to all this effort just to bridge the barrier between them! They've become very good friends since then.
42. How your clan sees their flight/deity
Oh, now THIS is an interesting question.
Firebird's Roost, officially speaking, is a neutral-aligned clan. It's not affiliated with any of the eleven deities or the elements they represent. There's no exalting, no involvement with inter-flight politics, no loyalty to anything except the clan itself. Dragons from all backgrounds are equally welcome and free to worship whatever god they might choose.
With that being said... I mean, yeah, it's basically a Fire clan. It's in the Ashfall Waste, most of the residents are either Fire dragons or dragons who grew up in the Fire flight, and the general culture is very much influenced by the surrounding region's values. Heck, it's got 'fire' in the NAME!
So, how do they feel about their official-unofficial flight?
They hate it. They absolutely hate it. Almost everyone who joined Firebird's Roost did so because they reached a breaking point with life in the Ashfall Waste. The brutal capitalist system perpetuated by the forgemasters, the looming threat of elemental upheaval and civil war right around the corner, the Flamecaller too occupied with her conquest of the other flights to intervene, it was all just too much to stand. The Roost offered them safety and comfort amidst all the chaos, and even if some of its policies seemed a little strange, desperate people aren't exactly known for their clear judgement.
While there are a few dragons in the Roost who still pray to the Flamecaller from time to time, most of them have completely rejected their allegiance to the Fire flight as an entity.
