Hey Basalt! I'm designing some miniboss type enemies based on descriptions a character gave with his tragic backstory. What ideas do you have for an ogre with two heads, a man with an immaculate beard, a man covered in scars, and a man with one arm smaller than the other?

Hm. There is a canonical creature, the Ettin, that’s a two headed ogre. That may help for that one. It’s difficult to come up with concepts from just a sentence, but here are a couple of short ideas:

-The man with the beard immediately makes me thing of a sly nobleman, but even moreso a sharp magician. 

-The man with scars could be any number of things as well. The first thing that comes to mind is a hardened assassin or someone who’s seen more than his share of hardship.

-The man with the smaller arm is a bit more puzzling, I’m not certain I have much of anything for that.

How'd you feel about ariandel's final boss? I had a pretty tough time with it but really enjoyed it

Friede is pretty fun with 3 very different stages, the second form probably gives me the most trouble. Most bosses with multiple characters have things you can py off one of them with but it can be pretty tricky in a blank room and friede’s ranged ice move deals a lot of frost and damage. The first form is pretty easy once you get the trick for it but the second form is just a blast

One more question about Howl of the Horde. I want Howl to copy a flashbacked Increasing Vengeance that is copying some other instant speed burn spell for copious amounts of copies, is there any way to make this happen?

You’d get four copies this way if Howl was cast after an attack.

The copies of Increasing Vengeance weren’t cast, so they don’t make an extra copy of the spell.

Another question about copying spells. Say I have a raided Howl of the Horde and then I cast, say, Spark Jolt. Would I be able to cast Reverberate to copy HotH and get 4 copies of Spark Jolt?

You would have to cast Reverberate before Howl of the Horde resolves in order to copy it.

Hi there! I play a Wort, The Raidmother edh deck, designed to copy hard hitting spells a bunch. I was wondering what there is to know about conspire and copy affects like reverberate and how the resolve on the stack.

First of all, you can only conspire a spell once. You can choose to not tap any untapped creatures and not copy the spell or you can tap two creatures to copy the spell once. You can’t tap four creatures to copy it twice, etc. (Except in the case where the spell itself has conspire and then Wort gives it another instance of conspire.)

When you copy a spell with conspire or reverberate, the copy is created on the stack. It’s not cast and no mana was spent to play it. If there were additional costs paid to cast it, such as discarding cards or sacrifice creatures or whatever, the copy using the same information about those addtional costs as the original does.

The copy will always resolve before the original spell. It can be countered normally.

Hi there, I had a question about the land Mage-ring Network. If I have Dictate of Karametra out on the field and, say, 5 counters on the land, if I removed those five counters, would I get six mana or just five?

Six.

Dictate of Karametra adds an additional mana as long as the land you tap actually makes some mana.

Another question about Horde of Notions. I attack with Horde and my opponent casts Silence to stop me from reanimating a creature. I use Horde's ability in response, would this work? If yes, is there any way to use Silence to stop it?

If you cast Silence in response to activating Horde of Notions, the Horde player won’t be able to cast the elemental spell when the ability resolves.
