This was why she had wanted to reject Thor when he asked her to be his messenger. She knew she would have to tell him and watch the pain in his eyes, as she had so many times when Thor had unintentionally wounded him with words and actions. And now... "She's heartbroken. When she heard of your conquest of Midgard it broke her. She withdrew into herself and refuses to leave her bedchambers or speak to anyone outside of Thor and the Allfather. She watched him anxiously, waiting for his reaction.
((Probably for the sake of convenience, the M!A shouldn't apply to this thread. P: Aha. What a moodkiller it'd be.))
Loki exhaled carefully, keeping up his usual composure. The prince hadn't wanted everything to come to this. Surely he knew there was going to be consequence, but not to this degree. His chest ached realizing how much his mother truly did adore him. Just as equally as Thor, ever since their youth it had never changed. Ir pained him with conflict whether or not to seek out his mother and reassure her all would be well. Those words would only be more deceit upon his part though, and he knew it.
"... Is she at least in good health?" Loki was aware of the physical toll mental damage could do to an individual.
Shiante sighed and but her lip. "Would you have it given to you as it is, or would you have me soften my words?" She had no desire to tell Loki how his mother fared after the recent events.
"Tell me with an unrelenting honesty, I will take responsibility for the brutality of the reality." A grave expression dawned the God's face, and he pressed his lips together. Concealing his anticipation, he folded his fingers together neatly, keeping his focus upon them.
♡
My lady Shiante,
With fate in my favor, you have intruded yourself into my life. I find myself restless without you, and I am forgetful of every thing but when I am to be spared your company. My life seems to stop there, and I can no longer see beyond. You have absorbed me whole.
I have a sensation within this moment where I find myself at awe of men... Men who have died for passions regarding the trivial natures of politics and religion. I shudder to think they have not met life so kindly. For love is my politics, my religion. And you my glorious goddess.
From hence forth, I swear my life to you, Shiante. A life that pleas for your compassion and all happiness.
Sworn to you always,
Loki
"Mostly female, are they not?" She laughed. "Most of them drawn by a desire to fix your hurts?"
"Yes, most, if not all, of the lot is female." He frowned, "To what are you implying, 'my hurts'? I am stable and befitting of a King." his voice was feigned with disapproval, but he only teased.
She nodded, walking towards him across the room. "It's nice to see a fellow Asgardian," she murmured. "Do you ever see any other Aesirs, or is it just you? Am I the first?"
"I believe you are the first." He mused, "Most of my followers seem to originate from Midgard. Ironic how I waged war on their homeland, they seem more than accepting of my cause."
She smiled. "Did you know I was here?" She gazed at him steadily, taking in the lines of his face.
"I am not an easy victim to ambush." He replied calmly with a grin, "Something I take pride is indeed my keen sense of awareness."
"Hello, Loki," she said softly as she emerged from behind a column where she'd been observing him.
“Good evening.” He smiled, amused, “You needn't conceal yourself.”
