“I just wonder what his father, Colt Cabana, would think about his behavior tonight.”
Minoru Suzuki vs. Fred Yehi - NJPW Strong Showdown 2022
Two of my favorite things about indie shows are 1.) people slapping other people’s tits off and 2.) fighting into the crowd.
So you can imagine my delight when this happened:
Went to the AAW show tonight. Had a hell of a time finding Logan Square Auditorium, but I made it. My first real indy show. I was so unprepared. Started to wander around looking for my seat, but I quickly decided it'd be easier to just stand all night.
Fred Yehi and Josh Alexander went to a one-hour draw. Unreal. I suspected they might at around the 25-minute mark, and then to actually see it happen was nuts. I felt like the crowd was kind of tired and ready to head out, but the match never dragged and kept us all engaged. My feet are still killing me but I'm glad I stuck it out.
I'm gonna see a lot of wild stuff this weekend, and I didn't figure AAW would compare to any of it. I'm glad they found a way. I sure don't think I'm gonna see anybody else go broadway in the next few days.
Drew Gulak has began coaching Daniel Bryan with potentially more "students" to come. It's a situation Gulak has had before, with Catch Point in EVOLVE.
