Me: *idly daydreaming* Hm, I wonder why Freddy stole the grapes in Gibraltar-
My brain: Well, Nightshade is located in Greece, which is Mediterranean. And Mediterranean countries are- of course- good at raising fruit that needs warm climates, such as grapes. So Freddy probably had a lot of grapes growing up in Nightshade. Maybe it's his comfort food. Maybe, being so far from home, going through everything that he did, he wanted to feel a piece of home, and hope that maybe, just maybe, he'd be able to return home.
