Wonder Bread Guy
Okay so a little background on wonder bread guy if anyone is interested.
Wonder bread guy is this guy from my school, and pretty much every Friday he comes to school with 1-2 loafs of wonder bread (hence his name) and he just starts handing it out, so on Friday's we typically get a free slice of bread, sometimes he wears a rainbow afro wig too
A few people know his actual name but like no one in my friend group does so everytime we see him we just yell out, "is that wonder bread guy?!?!" And he usually ends up walking over and we all just say hi, he's cool
This is how you make me a customer for life
sometimes having a Roomate that works at a bakery is odd, cuz every now and again just. Bread.
Feed the Hungry.
Here is a thing they do at a church I know. (It could also be done at a temple, synagogue, mosque, community center, or other place that has people with vehicles, time, and a will to do good.)
Every Sunday morning (by arrangement with the relevant managers, I believe) the church sends a few volunteers to the local Kroger and Panera Bread. There, the staff gives them and *edible but unsellable* leftover baked goods they have on hand.
The volunteers bring the baked goods to the church, and after the service there is a card-table at which the bread is distributed to anyone who needs it.
There is a sign outside that advertises the times at which one can get Free Bread. People who take the free bread are not required to attend the church service or otherwise be affiliated with the church in any way.
Afterwards, if there are leftovers, a volunteer takes the remaining baked goods and donates them to a local food bank/soup kitchen/homeless shelter.
This is a good thing to do because it 1) feeds hungry people, 2) reduces food waste, 3) is a good way to get involved in the community, and 4) serves Good by helping the poor.
Please reblog this so that more organizations can start doing this good thing.
Domaine de Sulauze Les Amis, Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence 2015This sans-soufre blend of 85% Syrah and 15% Grenache Noir is like Provence in a bottle, with notes of lavender, black olives, rosemary, sage, and thyme, along with pretty, plummy fruit. The Syrah and Grenache are vinified seperately then aged for nine months in large barrels. It shines with a little chill on it- just twenty minutes in the fridge and you're good to go. Drink with grilled cheese, grilled fish or poultry, and votre amis. $19Thursday Night Tasting, 2/23/17: FREE DELICIOUS WINE

Bodegas La Val Albariño, Rias Baixas 2015
This gorgeous Albariño from sunny Rias Baixas is made from all estate-grown fruit grown from three different vineyards. It's a super flavor-y white with bursts of tropical fruit, fresh herbs, and citrus and a dry, zingy finish. I've been really excited about this wine ever since it came in- it's really refreshing without being just another boring, dry white wine you drink with your eyes closed. It's a great thing to try if you love Sauvignon Blanc... or if you don't. Drink it with canned fishes on crusty bread or salty crackers. $17
Francois Chidaine Les Choisilles, Montlouis Sur Loire 2015
We were thrilled to get a few cases of this highly allocated, widely celebrated biodynamic Loire Valley Chenin Blanc, and we're even more excited that we get to share it with you tonight. This magical wine, named for the black flint prevalent in the Montlouis vineyards, boasts acidity that is sunny and meticulous, layers of orchard fruit, and the beautiful, delicate minerality we always hope for from the Loire. This silky Chenin would be terrific with bouillabaisse, and if you make bouillabaisse for me I'll totally bring it over!!! $38
J.K. Carriere Provocateur, Willamette Valley 2014
Winemaker Jim Prosser is extremely well respected by his peers in the Willamette Valley, which says a lot about both his character and skills. Both the winery and this cuvée are odes to Jim's grandfather J.K. "a provocateur, but decidedly more Pied Piper than antagonist. He'd favor opening this bottle and provoking an unexpected evening". This ripe, rich, precise Pinot Noir really is the perfect thing to build a spontaneous night around- it pairs well with most plates and pleases most palates. $25

I was thinking over the last few days that I really have to buy some bread. Not that I eat a ton of bread, but bread and peanut butter are really good for when you don't feel like cooking but still need some food.
I get to work today and there's a bag of sourdough buns, and a loaf of bread on the table. One of my co-workers comes over and says they are up for grabs so if I want to take them home I can.
Free bread! 🍞 On my way home from work today I stopped at a grocery store and bought two kilograms of peanut butter. A way better use of $15 than a McDonald's meal for me.
Is waking up worth losing comfort?
Would you rather be comforted or awake?
These questions are so sentimental that they are hilarious.
Do not seek disillusionment but endure it. Like a fever. Like a necessary winter. If you value truth over anesthesia.
