Initial cleaning done...just have to wait for the metal pieces to come out of the vinegar. The black coating is pretty well shot, as are the decals, sadly. Need to figure out how to protect it... #antiques #sewingmachine #freeno5 #restoration

And my second Craigslist find this weekend...a "Free No 5" treadle sewing machine. Needs a new belt and oil and some clean-up work, but it works, and should be a nice, slow-paced machine for a non-emergency like me to do simple mending, lining crochet/knitted projects, and binding off weavings. Plus I'll be able to. Akers Murphy-dog more socks when he needs 'em. #sewing #sewingmachine #treadlesewing #freeno5
