Bonjour tout le monde! (Hello All!)

Sorry for the radio silence! Classes started on Monday at the University de Stendhal and what with school work, exploring the city and getting to know my host family, I've been a little busy! Today I hiked the Bastille with a friend. We celebrated our summiting with a bottle of wine and some fantastic pastries and had a good laugh. On the way down we passed some kids playing up and down the hill. As we were passing we heard them calling to one another and we realized that they were playing "French and German" in much the same way that American children might play Cow boys and Indians. It was perhaps one of the most poignant reminders that I am quite definitely in another country, one with a mentality that quite often is very different from my own. I hope to post pictures of the lovely city soon - once I figure out some technical difficulties with my camera. Until then, just remember that patience is a virtue! Bisous!
