Warm and comforting Pho made at home with fresh herbs, beef, and spices that smell great. A delicious Vietnamese noodle soup that can be eaten any day.
Ingredients: 1 lb beef sirloin, thinly sliced. 8 cups beef broth. 3 star anise. 2 cinnamon sticks. 3 cloves. 1 tablespoon coriander seeds. 1 onion, sliced. 3-inch ginger, sliced. 2 tablespoons fish sauce. 1 tablespoon soy sauce. Rice noodles. Bean sprouts. Fresh basil leaves. Lime wedges. Sriracha sauce.
Instructions: In a dry pan, toast star anise, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and coriander seeds until fragrant. In a large pot, combine beef broth, toasted spices, onion, ginger, fish sauce, and soy sauce. Simmer for 30 minutes. Prepare rice noodles according to package instructions. Strain the broth to remove solids, then return it to the pot and keep it simmering. Arrange sliced beef on a plate. Place a handful of rice noodles in each serving bowl and top with raw beef slices. Pour hot broth over the beef and noodles, allowing the heat to cook the beef. Serve with bean sprouts, fresh basil, lime wedges, and Sriracha sauce on the side.
