Xingqiu has a channel for short, harmless pranks, Thomas Sanders style, where he either gets Chongyun, his favorite victim, or random strangers.

On one of those random stranger pranks, Xingqiu does a storytime-like bit and the random stranger is Freminet. It's one where the twist is a nice compliment, so Freminet first freezes up at the sudden unwanted attention and then blushes at the compliment after he's processed it. They talk a tiny bit afterwards and Freminet ultimately doesn't give his consent to be put on the internet (he's very much a data privacy nerd) which Xingqiu is cool abt, it happens, he'll redo the video with someone else.

But, even if he feels bad about it, he doesn't delete the video from his phone. He keeps replaying the video with the very pretty stranger who blushes adorably, and explained his reasons for not wanting to appear on the internet in great detail. And if he films his next videos close to the location where he met that stranger, what about it? He at least wants to know his name!

Xingqiu is officially some business student who skips all his lectures and goes to literature and philosophy lectures instead.

Chongyun is a psychology student whose presence when acting as a psychologist is so immensely calming that helping with psychological problems is almost no problem at all, which is good obv, but it frustrates him a lot.

Gaming is a performing arts student, who has the typical artist backstory with his father not approving of his career choice. He's also a competitive lion dancer on the side.

Freminet's a computer science student that takes up all the marine biology courses as extra curriculum and likes to sit in on psychology lectures asw.

They meet when Chongyun notices a cute boy sitting in on some of his psychology lectures, Xingqiu talks to this guy in the library next to him reading a 1000 page book on marine fauna and Gaming meets the younger brother of two students that are studying performing arts with him...
