Hi! I'm an observer and I mostly don't interact with anyone on this platform, but I saw your vent about your c!discduo fixation and it's so specific to the problem I had a few years ago that I thought I could help :))

When Dream's situation first happened, for a long time I was feeling so guilty I felt sick, especially when people first started seeing his shitty behavior towards Tommy. I regretted discovering that duo, discovering this fandom and I even regretted knowing english enough to be able to watch this server (it's my second language). The worst part was that I'm pretty sure c!discduo is my special intrest, and any attempt to leave the fandom ended up in failure ;-;

What really helped me were the facts that cc!Tommy mostly planned the c!discduo plotline and that in 2024, when he was looking back at the server, he was positive about how people still enjoyed the plotline. For me, it meant that c!discduo was mostly made with the intent to be fiction and that enjoying c!discduo doesn't hurt anyone.

In short - it's not bad and no one should feel bad about enjoying c!discduo, because even if it has a hint of cc's relations, it was originally made to just be fiction and we only enjoy the fiction part of c!discduo.

I hope that helps somewhat. I can't really fully give advice how to get rid of this feeling completely, cause for me it was that I had a sudden serious medical emergency and I just went "fuck it, it doesn't matter" and embraced my enjoyment of c!discduo lol

Not even sure I interpreted that post correctly, as no guilt or anything like that is mentioned - I am basing it on the fact that I had a similar trail of thoughts when I had that problem and this may be a similar problem.

P.S. - love your c!discduo animations! You're the reason I joined tumblr 3 years ago lmao

your advice helped so much, really. i guess in the dsmp days people tend to blur the lines between fictional and their online personas, most of the time making whatever their interaction connect to their fictional counterparts. ive hold on to this ask for a long time but it's about time i answered to it
