Okay~ Is it considered problematic to create a fictional world that is littered with diversity that are referencing off of real-life cultures it is based on? I know how Frozen totally butchered the original Snow Queen and its historical accuracy, but few have acknowledged that it isn't trying to be historically accurate and the kingdom itself doesn't exist. I do want to create a world of my own but I also want to make sure that it is made up of people from different backgrounds, including mine.

No. It’s not. Tolkien and a bunch of other fantasy writers of the time based their fictional worlds off of Europe (or just The West) and it was always used to justify/mirror a frankly fictitious idea of that section of the world being “all white” and that being “historically accurate”, to the point where any shred of diversity in any stories thereafter is considered “pushing an agenda” even though Straight White Males are a global minority and we should be seeing more non-white people than white people in a majority of stories all the time because they did exist and do amazing things and it was not only white people doing anything of value. Like, it baffles a prejudiced audience if someone dares to write a story that’s not about the palest of elves slaughtering an entire tribe of warlike peoples who are not-coincidentally incredibly savage to the point of being unable to be reasoned with and are also called “Dark” something, or if someone dares to write a story where a character is two-shades darker than the protagonist (or the protagonist themselves is darker than one would expect) and is not in a position of servitude to a white superior and is not treated as a rarity in that world. So, like, just go for it. Just be sure not to make the geographical error of identifying something by a country that doesn’t exist.
