Thinking about Jay in the club looking at you like this while you dance on another guy less than 24hrs after your break up.
And the guys are trying to talk him off the ledge because you’re evil and toxic and just trying to antagonize him because he broke up with you.
But that’s the thing: he knows, and it’s fucking working.
You have about 30 seconds before he crosses the room, punches that guy in the face, and drags you back to his place so you can have a long and hard (horizontal) conversation about break up etiquette.

ʟɪɴ'ꜱ ɴᴏᴛᴇ: posting the teaser to put pressure on myself to finish this :( jay deserves better...
dinner went by in a haze with jay having ordered almost the entire menu for you to taste. your shared love for food had brought you together in the first place, each dinner out a reminder to him of how lucky he got.
the drive home was quiet, but not the tension filled kind. his hand obviously interwoven with yours, soft music playing in the back.
however, you don't miss the way jays eyes kept flickering over to you, focussing on your lips first just to eventually roam down your body.
you catch his gaze, which wasn't as sweet anymore, no this was desire. tilting your head a little, you blink up at him innocently.
"can i help you?" voice dripping with sweetness.
he chuckle escapes him as his hands grip the steering wheel a little tighter, eyes struggling to tear away from you to focus back on the road.
"oh you definitely can. just wait til we get home."
you knew exactly what this meant.
it was a miracle that you made it into your shared apartment with your clothes and makeup still intact. jay had been eye fucking you ever since you exited the car and you didn't think he would've been able to hold himself back in the elevator but he did.
the main door falls closed with a click, his hand possessively at the small of your back.
"come on," he murmurs, slightly pushing you to stand in front of the tall windows looking over the city.
you catch the reflection of you two, the dimly lit room blending you in with the city lights below. his lips attach themselves to your neck, sucking at the delicate skin.
“jay,” your voice comes out way more pathetic than you wanted.
he hums, hand playing with the zipper of your dress, the cool metal of his rings sending shivers down your back.
the window reflects your squirming figure as your eyes dart over the moving cars, wondering if anyone saw the scenario unwinding above them.
“what’s got your attention, hm?” jay questions, still nibbling away at your sensitive neck.
“nothing.”
“you looking at our audience?”
you weakly slap his arm, breathless laugh spilling past your lips. “you’re insane.”
“i mean…”he starts, “i’ve been thinking about it ever since we moved here.”
you turn your head and the second you saw his expression you knew you were done for. there’s many ways jay looks at you, most commonly his eyes practically drip with love or crinkle with joy, but it wasn't always that innocent. like right now when he basically undressed you with his eyes, a smug smile making him look frustratingly handsome.
“you’ve been thinking about what?”
“oh you know…” he trails off, taking a strand of your hair, twirling it around his finger. “these big windows seem a little plain don’t you think?”
ever so slowly, he slips the silky straps off your shoulder. featherlike touches make you shudder, subconsciously leaning into his touch. his hand travels down your back, deliberately giving the flesh of your sides a little squeeze. it drives him insane just how responsive you are, how he knows exactly how to rile you up.
he carelessly bunches up the fabric of the dress as if it didn’t cost some peoples half year salary, fingers brushing over your clothed cunt.
“look at you...soaked already,”he chuckles breathlessly. “ is this all for me? prepped yourself for me so that i can fuck you real good, is that it?”
your head moved on its own, little quick nods signalling your enthusiasm.
jays words always have an effect on you, they had ever since you met him. it started with him making you swoon over the sweet nothings he whispers in your ear, the little confessions he whispered in between kisses. but with time he realised that there was an even more entertaining aspect to this. the second he found out how a simple question can make your pussy dripping if was over for you. gone was the sweet love making, the slow movements and hushed whispers — now that this man knows you let him power play he'll let his fantasies run free.

To your surprise, meeting Jay’s family is much like being introduced to Jay himself.
Jay chooses to have you all meet at a small restaurant. Not one tied to the Park family legacy, but one that keeps its lights low and its soup steaming and doesn’t make your head hurt with menu prices. He insists that he pick you up in his car, saying that he wants to steal you away for a moment. You know it’s actually because you’re nervous and he wants to reassure you over and over. Again, clever man.
You tie up your newly dyed hair and apply a matching shade of lip gloss in his car, a wrapped bouquet of tulips propped up against your ankle. You hope that you look put together and worth Jay’s attention and that too many questions aren’t asked of you. Jay looks at you with so much love, you all but tremble from it.
You hope you’re doing the right thing.
When you enter the restaurant, Jay’s hand resting on your back, your timid greeting and quiet offering of gifts are met with warmth: the actual, genuine kind that has no place in icy judgement or corporate conversations. Jay’s dad asks you about your studies and friends with curiosity in his voice. Jay’s mom thanks you for the bouquet with a smile and makes a reference to the book you remember her mentioning in one of Jay’s vlogs.
Oh, you think. I can see where he gets it from.
You suppose it makes sense: someone as attentive and generous as Jay must have been raised by a family with high standards. It’s something that’s flitted around in your mind ever since you did that (embarrassingly) deep dive on his old social media moves, but it’s only now that you understand the connection. Your boyfriend, of course, is his own person, but you can see the way his mom’s gentleness surrounds his core, the way his dad’s grounded nature makes his words carry a quiet strength. Your chest is swarmed with a buzzing, pleasant admiration before you take a sip of wine.
It’s only after you all receive your orders and settle down to eat that Jay’s mom asks The Question.
“So, Y/N, how did you and Jay meet? No, don’t answer for her, honey,” she adds to Jay’s tensed-up figure and opening mouth. “I want to hear it from your girlfriend.”
Fortunately, you’ve anticipated this pretty much ever since the dinner started. You’ve been spending the last few days practicing it in your mirror every morning, actually. (Jay would insist that was overkill, but he didn’t have to know.)
“It was pretty boring, all things considered,” you smile. “I’ve always loved baking, and a couple people prompted me to start a baking business. I filmed some content that went a little viral, and Jay reached out to see if he could offer any of his time or resources. All very business-like.”
“Best decision of my life,” he murmurs, tilting his chair toward you and slowly rubbing circles in the curves of your hip. If he keeps being so forward in front of his parents, you aren’t going to survive half this meal.
“That explains the pink hair, then,” Jay’s dad says. “Cute way to promote.”
“Yes, sort of,” you chuckle. “I need to stop taking orders for the time being, so I suppose this is my way of celebrating everything. At least, that’s what my friends told me when they helped me color it.”
“I see,” Jay’s mom replies. “Well, it looks lovely on you.”
“Thank you,” you say. “I’m a bit sad I can’t continue for now, but I can’t complain much.”
“What changed between you and Jay during that time?” Jay’s dad asks.
The question leaves you at a loss of words for a moment. It brings back a rush of memory and emotion, lingering hurt and heartbreak melded with the exciting, terrifying realization that Jay would show up for you: that he wanted to.
“He was earnest about everything,” you say. The tiny admission feels a bit too honest for the space you’re in. But you feel Jay’s eyes on you, and you want to repay him in some small manner, so you continue. “I saw how much he cared about his work and the people he lets into his life. I found myself really admiring that.” You let out a breath, scooping up another bite of your meal. “I was a bit intimidated when he first reached out to me, but he never acted like I had to make myself into someone different to be seen.”
You’re a bit too nervous to peek at Jay’s reaction beside you. Instead, you keep your attention on Jay’s parents, who are giving you a shared, small smile. You feel yourself relax a bit for the first time that night, seeing their obvious approval in front of you.
Jay doesn’t say much after that, but he reaches for your hand under the table.
By the time you two leave the restaurant, you have a full stomach, a lighter heart, and Jay’s mom’s number, with promises of dinner at their house and attending a future book club hosted by her and her friends. Jay wraps you in his jacket as you walk back to the car, shrugging off the twilight chill on his own shoulders.
“They adored you, I can tell,” he murmurs in your ear, tugging you closer by his grip on your waist. “I know this was unexpected, but I’m glad I could show them how wonderful you are for me.”
“I’m glad I met them,” you reply, and you are pleasantly surprised to find those words are honest. “I can’t believe it went that well—I still feel like I’m in some beautiful, crazy dream.”
“I like the sound of that. Wait, does that mean you’re my dream girl?” he smirks.
Your laughter fills the crisp air. “I suppose I have the pink hair to go along with it, now.”
“You could have hair the color of a traffic cone and I’d still stumble into walls thinking about you,” he blurts, then blushes so hard you can see his ears are pink under Seoul’s streetlights. “You weren’t supposed to hear that.”
You chuckle. “If it helps, the feeling is mutual.”
“Yeah? You want me to dye my hair, beautiful?”
“Why not?” you smile, playing into the joke. “You can get pink like me, then we’ll match.”
“Sounds like a plan,” he replies as you both approach his car. He opens the door for you with a charming smile. But before you turn to climb in, he leans forward, butterscotch gaze darting from your eyes to your lips and back again.
“May I kiss my dream girl?” he asks.
“Always,” you whisper, and reach up to steal one first.
He melts into you there, car door wide open, a hand coming to rest against where your back bumps against the side of the passenger seat. He’s a strong, warm presence against the biting chill of the night. Every brush of him against you causes your heart to tumble out of your chest and in front of his feet. You kiss and kiss until you can barely remember when you walked out of the restaurant and all the lights inside the car turn off.
Tomorrow, you’ll say goodbye to Sugar Talking for good. You’ll handle an order you’ve been dreading for a month for a very elite, very crowded birthday party. But tonight you let your head tilt towards Jay as you make peaceful, mundane conversation. You watch city lights pass by as he drives you to your apartment. You kiss your boyfriend goodnight in front of a very boring, very empty walkway and smile as you watch his car disappear in the distance.
For tonight, you let yourself simply be a woman in love.
