He sits on the stool, feet resting on the bottom crossbar as he sips from the ceramic mug. He opens the little black book before him. Scribbling notes with the elegant fountain pen before taking another drink. This time he waits a moment, looking up thoughtfully before adding his final notes on the shop’s new blend. Then with a satisfactory nod he closes the book and clicks the pen’s cap back in place.

He sits down and adjusts the guitar against his knee; the days troubles melting away and his form softening around the wood. His head bows slightly, eyes closing as he picks at the strings and hums to find the key. There’s a serenity about him as he begins to sing, becoming lost once more in the music that always brought light in even the darkest of days.
