Must admit… It was a fantastically unique experience I’d HIGHLY recommend IF in Iceland. Those who know… Know. They’re famous for their #tomato 🍅 #soup which was amazing! As was the fresh #bread 🍞 and the wait for it… Tomato IPA beer🍺. Friðheimar farm in Reykholt, in South Iceland; this is a family-owned greenhouse and horse farm that produces 370 tons of crops per year. Iceland gets most of their produce from greenhouses; the climate and lack of sun make it difficult to grow crops from the soil. This greenhouse grows tomatoes and cucumbers that are pollinated by bumblebees. There is also a beautiful restaurant area where you can have delicious tomato soup; each table has its own basil plant and a pair of scissors so you can add your own fresh basil to the soup.
