It's a awesome life we lead and running brings us together. @book.of.claudia just finished running surf city then ran the speed project and now she's gonna be frolicking the LA Marathon, total Brady mode. Then my friend @jefferson_720 hasn't been running long but is a natural. Keep a eye on this one. It's his first full. I met him at San Francisco half last year. Ugh doesn't even seem like he's trying, and he's always running with his shortcake. In a couple she'll be bad ass. It's in her genes. Ok everyone stop put the brakes on and rethink. You are a person that is going to run 26.2 miles this Sunday. Stop doubting yourself. Stop telling yourself oh what if I'm not as fast as I want to be. What if I'm last. What if I don't make it. Ugh I didn't train enough. I could have done better. People are watching me. there are many more and I'm sure we could go on. SO STOP tell yourself fck that. I'm going to do my best. I'm gonna smile the whole way. 😁tell yourself the only person I'm racing is myself. If someone passes you, tell them good job. Get it. Woot woot. If you pass someone. Tell them good job. See you at the after party, I'll save you a beer and pizza 🍕 Don't be your worst enemy and worry about what time you are going to finish or what others think. Lentils and macaroni. Best of two worlds. So this is how my day went. Went to do some track and it's still closed. So of course it's getting hot out so just went home and wanted to wait til later. But I'm impatient, so got on my indoor bike and just ride away. If you didn't know I been running in and off with a hurt right knee since June of last year 😂😂 I learned that if I rest it I could run then rest it and run again but the problem is still there. But this week it's just not getting right. So after LAM my next race will be San Diego in June. That's the one that hurt me last year 😂 but I'll run smarter. I'm also putting together my training program for NYC marathon. This time I'm smarter. My training program for LA just had miles on it. With nothing about pace and different track workouts etc... so every training run was a race 🤦🏻‍♂️ but I took a class about running and learned that there is so much more. Like different cycles of training. And different paces and you should not train while injured. But that's another story 😉. And what I learned also is a lot of people are misinformed about training. Each individual is different and each has different needs and each has different opinions. So to be a success in New York I dropped a lot of races. And here In LA my goal changed to finish 💪🏼 but you never know what happens on race day. I always surprise myself. Ok the count down is here see you all next weekend. Oh and 40 minutes is the longest I did on my bike ever and wasn't even thirsty. Ok people asked. How do I spend one night in a hotel before a race, and what happens to my stuff. Well I pack very lightly and in the morning of a race I have two options. Either I put my stuff in a car, if I have it available, or put it in a bag and drop it off at bag check, and just pick it up after the race. It's a pain in the ass traveling all the way back to a hotel to get your shit. So these are the two options that work for me. As we know some races are perfect and you finish close to your hotel and can just get a late check out and get your loot after the race. Well just a FriendLessPete thought for the day. Trying to look sexy at the top of the hill. I can't believe how green it was. Rain in California, brings life to a desert. Well I got out today with my friend and we ran, walked and just got those booty, and calf muscles going. There is something about being in the hills that makes me feel the most comfortable. I love running uphill but those steep downhills. I take my time going down. I've learned to treat them with respect. I still have a knee issue going down hill but that will be taken care of after LA marathon. Im already planning New York. But, focus on one race at a time. Well ok everyone have a awesome day. Time to cook then eat ice cream. Because I deserve a treat once in awhile.
