Projection happens when someone is so absorbed in dealing with a particular problem or situation or person, even, that suddenly a completely innocent bystander gets hits by the tirade of frustration/anger/ judgement etc. As a reault innocent people get blamed and tarred down with the same brush because the person cannot distance themselves from the issues they are facing long enough to remember who they are really dealing with. They forget the love you've shown or the kindness and simply throw you into the bag of bones they have to pick. Typically; they personalise that which has nothing to do with them because of a particular focus area they identify as a cause. If you've been a victim of projection, you'll know how it hurts to be the victim of a full attack, the grounds for which are probably completely unknown to you. Friendships end as a result of such tunnel vision that people choose to disregard your position or thoughts or feelings because THEIRS is somehow screaming so loud in their head that they convince themselves that you are what you are not. There is no defense against such attacks nor should you try. If they don't know you better than that, then maybe you need to take your love elsewhere. You may not be fully aware of what they are going through even; some snippet of memory about something or other that you seem to remember them talking about isn't reason enough, you think. But the tirade and the attack is nonetheless vicious as though you yourself were to blame. Projection and transference go hand in hand, as when the person has decided that you belong in the same boat as those they have an issue with, they simply transfer all the angst, frustration, whatever, about those other people onto you. Overcoming projection: Stand up for your self. try to explain your position, (although they probably aren't listening) but get out of their way and focus on yours. Get out of the way because someone who insists on tarring and feathering you is not being objective nor can they, this isn't about you. It may hurt but you'll live. If they eventually see it good, and if not get busy living without them. #projection #friendshiphacks #itsokay https://www.instagram.com/p/B1F7K_7ArbF/?igshid=4nex10mn8crj
