"Whoa, there sure seem to be a lot of newcomers showing up lately."
Despite her surprise, Serena flashed a smile toward the group. Maybe she could make friends with them—or, maybe, they were simply tourists who wanted to meet the Champion. “I’m Serena, and it’s really great to meet you!”
Gold just grinned slightly. “Oh I’m all right but you have seen the other guy! Anyways… Imma be taking off for like I don’t forever. So yea.”
"The other guy? Gold, please tell me what's going on."
He certainly wasn't acting like himself, and that worried Crystal. Frowning in confusion, she placed her hands on her hips. "You can't come here and tell me you're leaving without telling me why! I thought you were uncomfortable leaving your house."
"Crys, Crys, Crys, Crys, CRYS!"
"Gold? What's the matter?"
"Are you all right?"

The cafe owner was sweeping off the stairs to the building. Upon hearing footsteps she glanced up, "Sorry, we're not opened at the moment."
On returning home to New Bark, Gold spotted someone sitting on the steps to his house, and he paused. He wasn't sure whether he was dreaming, or if this was some kind of trick. Whatever the case, he wasn't too bothered by it. He had some experience with time-related things. More than any of his friends had, at least. If that really was what was going on here, though, it didn't matter. The Breeder knew what he was looking at- and that was a younger version of himself who seemed to be in really bad shape. Not just physically, but mentally too.
He approached him casually, and once in front of him, he looked down at this younger Gold.
"Hey kid, what's got you so down?"
