I gotta talk about Max for a minute cause Max in ep 4 oh man

His plan was right away to have Thaddeus pretend to be Xander just like he pretended to be Titus, still with Thaddeus but this time they're in different roles of the same ploy

And right away Dane knew Max had done something, something had gone wrong and they quote the usual brotherhood stuff to Max but regardless they follow Max's plan

Thats really not a plan at all, like he said, things just keep happening to him and he's doing what he can do salvage the situation and thats really been his whole story so far!

And when he said 'I'm going to kill Quintus' I was like 'fuck yeah you go babe get that motherfucker' but the scene! His confrontation with Quintus was fucking phenomenal I was utterly heartbroken and just feeling for him So Hard

And he admitted what he'd done to Quintus! Insane! But I think he knew, I think Max knew that if he told Quintus the truth, that those kids were ghouls, that would force the bastard to turn on him, to shoot at him first

And Max's broken 'I'm sorry I couldn't kill him" and Dane's 'You dont have to apologise for not killing someone' god what a fucking perfect line for Max to hear, and Dane stole the cold fusion device and trusted Max with it (and the hug! The embrace!!)

Oh lord help me there was so much pain and emotion but it was all so so good and I don't know where Max is going (except yknow to the general Vegas direction) but I am so glad he is free

Okay but Coopers little rant to Dogmeat in ep 3 about a boat thats not a boat

Is he referencing the Ship of Theseus? While literally cutting out a chunk of himself?

I really feel like there is something there but I am not analytically minded enough to coherently discuss it
