Was this when you were in NYC? Lol. She is the woooorst. Also your hair looks damn good IMO. I can't go without washing my hair for a day!!! PS: how was the cronut???? #burning questions
Yep, day before yesterday! And aww, thank you! CAN I USE THIS AS AN EXCUSE TO TALK ABOUT HAIR PRODUCTS OKAY THX: I used to also wash my hair every day because it got really lank and gross so immediately. I also chopped my hair to chin-length a few months ago, cutting myself off from everyone's fav default bad hair day go-to, the messy bun, so I've had to get a lot better at figuring out how to keep myself from looking too Bellatrixy. Like so:
Dry shampoo is the best and if you haven't tried it I totally encourage you to. You may have to try a few different kinds to get the one you like best, but I think it's worth it. It keeps you from having to wash your hair every day, which is bad for it / totally a pain in the ass, and is GREAT when you're traveling.
My favorite kind so far is by Batiste -- zhouyi gave it to me last time she visited and it is fantastico. People also swear by the Suave Keratin kind. (These are both at the cheap end of the spectrum, I'm sure there are many great options if you're willing to spend more! You can also even just use cornstarch and brush it out, to achieve very similar results.)
I've ALSO had good results with this anti-frizz stuff, which makes my hair look mysteriously awesome on the 2nd and (yes) 3rd days dirty, especially if I take the time to dry it on the first day, but even if I don't. (It seems to encourage my weird, positive relationship with humidity: my hair is really fine and flat but a little wavy and for some reason that means it looks better the more humid and the more dirty it is?! Up to a point, anyway. I KNOW, IT IS STRANGE.)
Aaaand, thanks for letting me ramble about things no one cares about!
PS The cronut was kind of a disappointment (frying totally ruins the fluffy flakiness of a croissant, imho! also it had coconut cream which just seemed over the top at that point), but the egg sandwich and kouign amman were killer.
Hair of the day I kept my twist in for almost a week. Decided to take them down yesterday. I notice the longer I let my twist stay in before I take them out they become frizzy but I decided to embrace the frizziness and shrinkage. Will be doing other styles with my twisted out hair.
