all joking aside, the one thing i would say about carlisle that is often forgotten is that he’s Not perfect. he’s a kind soul and would do anything for anyone - but there are conditions to that. he’s not about to put his family in harm's way because it benefits someone else. each decision he makes has to avoid exploiting the fam and although he’s fiercely loyal, don’t mistake that for him being blindly kind. he can say no (and he’s not about to apologise for it).
each family member he’s gained, he’s recovered a piece of himself that had been missing from the loneliest years of his life ( since that night in the sewers). he’s learned to love himself through loving others - it took him 300 or so years but he got there in the end !! what an inspo
he’s by no means elitist about his ~vegetarianism~. he doesn’t like to pass judgements on others regarding their status - however, it’s something he definitely struggles with ( he goes back and forth ) ; watching far too many close friends struggle with it has opened his eyes to the endless complications. i also think that his religious background has helped him steer away from judgement. he feels there’s no place for it.
carlisle most likely dabbled into every job you can imagine - it wasn’t as if time wasn’t on his side. from teaching to work within the law system, carlisle was first introduced to medicine in the late 1800′s and hasn’t looked back since. the job gave him the opportunity to heal and temporarily end suffering, but also put him in a position where he could oversee the medical supernatural influence (i.e. vampire/werewolf killings).
after he was turned, he was adamant that he couldn’t see his family ( especially his father ) and made a difficult promise to himself that he wouldn’t even attempt to - however, he has kept tabs on his family members and wherever possible, helped anonymously, especially when it came to his nieces and nephews. but breaking his own promise, he visited his mother on her death bed, but she was too far gone to realise who he was. to her, she was just a man with a warm smile and kind eyes.

jae tanner, born on november 5, 1970 in manhattan, new york, was the son of a conservative strict mother and a rough around the edge father with a secret background.
his real name was tan jae kyung.
his mother worked as a cashier for a korean supermarket and his father did jobs that ... that didn’t require him to pay taxes. they went like this until he was eight, when they had enough money to own a korean restaurant, which he himself worked in until their closing
growing up, he learned the korean language and customs, but kept his “asian” side at home when he was with his friends. he also grew up with a big love for his father. it drove his mother crazy when he did bad things in his teens years, something his father encouraged.
his father was the start of jae’s introduction to his voice alteration abilities he has now. his father was the first to noticed how jae’s tone frequently changed when he spoke korean and english and how he mimicked his family and friends. his father, a man who also had the ability to adjust his voice, taught him certain techniques regarding the throat and nasal cavity to adjust his voice to resemble others.
(headcanon: mr. tan was a con artist who called old people and pretend to be the irs or their family needing money. mrs. tan didn’t know about this.)
his first test was with his mother, mimicking his own father. it took him a few trials before he succeeded.
with this learning experience from his father and the growing boom of beatboxing in harlem, jae took it a step higher, incorporating the skills he learned from his father in his beat box. he did pretty well with his talent and could have been compared to the o.g. beat boxers if he stuck around.
beatboxing unfortunately for jae was also his demise when a vampire named daniel took notice of his talent and turned him one night on his way home.
kidnapped and kept at daniel’s place, he woke up a new person, and livid at the man who changed him. he attempted to go home but stopped after nearly killing his mother. he attempted to kill daniel multiple times afterwards.
he stuck with daniel and committed a lot of petty crime with his ability; making jae grow to despise his creator ‘cause the deeds he did reminded him of home. he left once he knew he wouldn’t be followed, and that was shorty after daniel found a new subject who accepted him as a mate.
free from daniel, he learned to adjust to his life as a vampire by himself. he lived in a cabin for a few years before traveling and living in motels from time to time. his tolerance of blood was better when he fed extra before going into a town to spend time around humans.
(he got lonely sometimes, don’t blame him ... and beatboxing and doing voices for humans to get money was a plus!)

when the internet came along, he used the venue to his advantage and sold noise tracks, voice recordings, and other things to make a better buck. by this point, he adopted the name jae tanner to gain more customers; he was also really popular in the indie field.
by the news of the cullens, he decided to go to forks to see what the story is all about.
vocal mimicry
vocal mimicry is the ability to mimic someone’s voice perfectly. jae has had a talent for it since he was a child and the practice with his father helped solidify his chances of this ability.
for jae, he just needs to hear a little snippet of someone’s voice to be able to mimic their voice completely. he has used this in his music sales, selling snippets of his voice for backups and other uses, and has also used it to lure people in when they don’t come with him for him to feed.

born on 3 october 2002 to loving, nurturing (and liberal) parents, brady grew up unashamed of his own emotions and was nicknamed by his family as the cry baby. he loved disney movies and chick flicks and often cried to them. his excessive crying bothered his father a bit, but he didn’t take offense to it until he tried to take his legally blonde dvd away from him.
(he had a thing for the strong blonde woman who shut down another with hair products information lol)
for the longest time, brady was a pacifist and refused to fight unless he needed to. he had fought before he shifted a total of maybe ~ nine fights. he won half of those, lost the half of the others (granted his cousins beat their asses for beating brady’s ass)
you can call him a bit of a slacker and “not there”. often he wouldn’t do his homework in school and spend most class periods staring out the window or on his phone. it took him years later to realised his love for writing and movies and replaced staring out the window to writing stories and watching movie clips in class.
often he would get in trouble, and almost always he never failed to tear up as he got yelled at.
when brady is stressed, he likes to go running in the rain. the droplets of water always felt nice, and the harder the rain, the longer he chose to run. his last human run was of course scary for the boy and he ran in circles trying to figure out:

it wasn’t long for sam to find him, but it also didn’t take long for sam to be annoyed by brady. essentially the alpha had to deal and teach this pacifist kid how to be a wolf of la push.
at first, brady refused to be part of the pack and even tried to tell his parents about it. when his parents didn’t believe him and his wolf kept coming out, he ended up going back to the uley household.
he grew close to colin, the other new shifter that he trained with, but maintained a distance from the rest of the pack until he first handed saw what the vampires could do. by that point, brady started to really listen to his pack about the vampires leeches and their ideas started to became his own as well.
brady has a bias against vampires and doesn’t like them. he has a stress ball made from really thick ingredients to play with when he’s in school and around them
he is bothered by how much he enjoys killing vampires, granted the vampires he’s killed were murderers, he still doesn’t like violence.
he goes to fork university as undeclared. he is in between film and english and taking classes within both majors to flesh out whichone is his forte.
he chose to stay with uley’s pack ‘cause he doesn’t know how he feels about working with the cullens and like the rest of the pack, he’d just rather not.
pack dynamics: brady is the pup in the pack that sings tiktok songs in their telepathic connection and tries to get the pack to do tiktoks with him in the woods during patrol times.

he is still a pain in the ass to uley pack probably cause he has selective hearing and will go off on storyline ideas in his head when they’re talking to him. he gets yelled often to stop day dreaming while on patrol.
