So the "Adult" Happy Meal
This is the most well meaning bad idea I have ever seen. Basically, the "adult happy meal" is a happy meal made for adults (duh) with the classic McDonald's characters all over the cups, boxes and container it comes in. Basically, they are doing what they should be doing for EVERYONE for only adults who remember what McDonald's used to be.
And as an adult who does remember what it used to be, they missed the mark with this. I want Hamburglar, Ronald McDonald, Grimace, the McNugget Buddies, the Fry Guys, Birdie and more to make a comeback including on the merchandise, but not solely for adults my age. McDonald's used to be a place that embraced childhood and made everyone feel like a kid in all the best ways. This marketing attempt feels like a cruel tease which reminds me that I am an adult and something I once loved is lost, and my own child will never get to experience.
Like I said before, McDonald's shouldn't be doing this a tiny marketing piece. This should be what they do for everyone especially kids regularly and everywhere all the time (minus the characters designed to have four eyes). This includes in the restaurant's design like this and having a play area where the kids actually play.
McDonald's used to feel special in spite of being fast food and honestly, THIS is how it should go back to being all the time. Will it cost money? Yes, but it make money back in droves because even the new generation of children will love this. Designs like this will be the reason families will be going back to eating McDonald's in person.
And the same would go for a lot of other franchise based restaurants. I remember the days when Wendy's, Harvey's and such used to each have own look.
I don't want just flashbacks. I want the REAL McDonald's to come back. I want to pass it down to my son and I'm sure many other adults feel the same way.

McDonaldland adventures 🍟🍔✨ colored pencil piece on grey card stock
I don’t usually post pieces that I did for art class but I was super happy with how this came out! I spent a few weeks on it and had tons of fun drawing all these nostalgic characters.
This post is quite a few firsts for me- first time posting a colored pencil piece, first time posting something from art class, and somehow my first time drawing the classic McDonald’s characters. Seriously how have I never drawn them before?? Anywho I hope you all enjoy this fun art piece~!
