Like maybe that's what he looks like but we only ever saw Natsu on the cusp of becoming END and thats why he was able to snap back to normal by Erza during the Alvarez Arc?

FAIRY TAIL END

The day has arrived. During all these 11 years we have enjoyed one of the most amazing and emotional things created by someone. Hiro Mashima brought us something to read, to watch, to love, to cry with, to be interested in, to be in love with... Every chapter was impossible to put down. Incredible characters, a memorable development, great arcs. Everything was detailed and thought. Fairy tail is just so difficult to summarize in some words! Guys, our OTPs are now canon, at least to me. Look at the last chapter. First:

- Gruvia: the conversation they have. Gray's blushed face. The situation. In a small scene , they've become canon.

- Gajevy: nothing more to say but reading their conversation and Gajeel's last face. Even Lucy's face told us everything to know.

- Jerza: I think they were canon since the very beginning. They both love each other and there were scenes that verify their mutual love.

- Nalu: It is clear that Hiro Mashima made it difficult first. There were some points in which they were more friends than anything else. However, throughout the episodes, they both give so much importance to each other. Natsu cried for Lucy, as well as her. They fought for their lives. And also, Mashima's drawings, his disguised intention to tell us they're canon and have a stronger relationship compared to the ones they might have with other people. For example: Lucy's nails in the last graffiti of her. Her sobs when Natsu left her and the guild for a while so that he could be stronger (after Tartarus arc) and then, when he suddenly disappeared again in front of Gray, Lucy and Happy to fight with Acnologia. (these are just a few examples). Then, Natsu, every time Lucy was injured, cried, suffered, was in danger, etc etc, his strength highly increased and his main aim was to maintain her safe, happy and mostly, alive.

In the last chapter. We might think he friendzoned her but that's not true at all. Again, Lucy appreciated all he has done for her and all the adventures they have lived together in a small phrase. Natsu, approached to Lucy. In this moment, even Lucy thought he was about to kiss her but no. Lucy showed her nervousness, like she wasn’t prepared yet and he noticed this. He finally said “it’s ok”. He caught her hand and led her to more adventures, to a life in which they would be together FOREVER . For me, that means they'll live a future in company to each other. It's like a period, isn't a full stop. Mashima was like: I won't make this too romantic but you can now have our OTP being canon thanks to all the nalu moments, especially this one. Now, you make your own conclusion.

Anyway, fairy tail will always be our fairy tail. That group full of mages will improve forever, will always fight for each other. No one can stop them now. Our children has grown up in every single way. Fairy tail is and will be in our heart forever and ever. It isn't a 'goodbye', it's a 'see you soon'.
