Root canal
Please - Can you do one please of 5sos Luke having to get a root canal or something and he hates going to the dentist alone and all the other guys are being jerk ditching him for other friends so he calls Niall and he goes with him for comfort, please. B’day Dec 14th.

Luke has hated dentists from ever since he remembers. His mum used to lie to him about going to the park and actually ending up at the dentist. Luke remembers the screams, sobs and the number of tantrums he used to throw when the dentist would even approach him. He had always thought that he’d take great care of his teeth to avoid having to go see a dentist ever in his life. And while he was back home, Luke’s parents made sure he never missed a dentist’s appointment but as soon as he away from home, Luke never even stepped in a dentist’s cabin and that probably was his biggest mistake.

For a few weeks now, Luke had been feeling a strong ache in one of his teeth. At first, he was even scared to look at it and just kept popping over the counter meds. But when the ache increased instead of going away, Luke knew something was wrong. He dared to take a peek at the tooth and found a decay. And it was perhaps something that a dentist should look at.
But Luke avoided it as much as he could. His fear of the dentist was so overpowering that he was willing to bear the pain of the teeth for quite a while. And it also didn’t help that his bandmates were poking fun of him.

His bandmates hadn’t quite understood his fear of dentists. So they laughed at the boy trying to avoid dentists.
“Hello Mr. Toothache” Michael greeted him as the boy walked in the kitchen.
“That cheek has swollen up or are you eating something” Ashton asked.
Luke looked up at the man, grateful for the concern when Calum added, “he looks so funny like that.”
As the room dissolved in laughter, Luke simply bowed his head and walked out.
There was no use talking to the boys.

Unable to talk to his bandmates, Luke turned to his good friend, Niall. The boy, thankfully, understood Luke and was ready to accompany him to the dentist. And that’s where Niall understood Luke’s fear of dentists.
The boy was absolutely pale and was ready to even run away when his name was called up. But Niall was there with a hand to his back encouraging him to walk in the cabin. Niall had been by the boy’s side throughout the whole checkup. And when the dentist suggested a root canal, Niall was still there to offer some encouragement to his friend.
“Can I tell you something really quick?” Niall told Luke.
He waited until Luke nodded before saying, “You can hold my hand. I won’t make fun of you.”
Luke looked up at the boy in pure hope before clinging to the man as the dentist went through the procedures.

Once the whole thing was over, Niall accompanied Luke back to the 5sos’s apartment.
“What happened to Luke?” was the first thing Calum asked when he saw Luke and Niall.
Luke merely scoffed at them and went to his room.
“Root canal” Niall informed them.
“Shit! His tooth was that bad?” Ashton asked.
Niall nodded, raising an eyebrow at Ashton cursing himself.
“We were horrible to him” Michael sighed.
“Make sense that he asked me if I could accompany him then” Niall huffed.
And that was when the guilt hit them.
They teased Luke so badly about a toothache that the boy had to turn to someone else rather than them.

They waited until Niall had talked to Luke before approaching the boy.
“Lukey, is it too late to say that we’re sorry?” Michael asked.
Luke looked away, not wanting to forgive the boys so soon when Calum tugged at his arm and Luke made the mistake to look at Calum’s puppy eyes.
He rolled his eyes at them, letting Calum pull him in a hug.
“We’re so sorry, buddy,” Calum said.
“We’ll make it up to you kiddo” Ashton promised.
Luke nodded as he knew that they would surely make it up to him.
They always do.

If there’s one thing Luke was sure about was that even if they falter somewhere, his bandmates will always make up to him. And while they falter, he’d have Niall by his side for sure.
