he'd been expecting it to be heavier. it had been the son of Hestia's first thought, when he'd picked up the halberd for the first time. the metal was cold beneath his fingers, but soon warmed from exposure and effort. playing with the reach of his blows, adjusting to the heft of it as he swung upon one of the dummy's. he'd never been a fighter. never wielded a weapon, felt the muscles in his body begin to burn from use in ways they'd avoided. but it came naturally, something he assumed linked to his divine heritage awakening in song.
