"𝚒'𝚖 𝚜𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚢," yet the way he says it doesn’t sound all that much like he’s sorry at all. “you put what? where?”
steve had been hard at work in the little corner of tony’s office that he’d commandeered. he’d been working with possibly the world’s smallest screwdriver for the last ten minutes, making various noises of frustration. but now he moved the lamp, looked over his creation, and a smile spread across his face. he held up a little spider robot, stretching his palm out so that tony could get a better look. “i think it’s done. what do you think?” @chrysvlis
steve flopped down into bed, stretching his arms above his head. he’d spent the day moving peter out of his place and into their last remaining bedroom. if they found any more kids on the street, they were going to have to take down the office. although steve hadn’t been expecting to adopt another twenty-something when he started off his week, he knew that he was going to be glad that he had for the rest of his life. “you think they’ll get along, right?” steve wasn’t a worrier by nature, but big changes always made him a little more careful. “cedric and peter?” @chrysvlis
steve was no stranger to coney island. when he was a teenager, he and a few friends would take the train all the way to the water at least one weekend a month. that being said, it had been more than a few years since he’d been. in between bites of cotton candy, he was pointing out to tony exactly everything that had changed. “the hall of mirrors definitely wasn’t there before. you think they’re just doing that for halloween?” @chrysvlis
you’re supposed to talk me out of things like this, not the other way around. - steve & tony @chrysvlis
tony had caught steve fallen asleep at his desk, only luck not having his slack face having smeared the pencil around. on the top side of the sketchbook was a bust illustration of tony-- not unusual, but there were bits and pieces of it that were off. the bottom page, similar busts of two people steve had met at the library-- peggy and bucky. “...had a weird dream. had to get it down.” his voice was sleep-thickened, dried drool on his cheek.

One of three brothers, born and escaped the traditional clutches of a small, church-going community as soon as the legs were strong enough to carry him away from the miserable surroundings. No future there, behind church pews at day, dancing with the devils at night. Mrs. Parlamo would peel the aging skin off of her digits with rolling the rosery between the fingers if she dared to dive in the truth of what kind of people her sons were. Tony, maybe the worst atrocity of the three, although he carried shame of being related to the brothers.
Incapable for nearly everything, as the man with coal colored hair would describe. Even if Tony was not exactly rotten to the core, not on the list of the most vicious creatures that needed to be erased from the earth such as murderers and women abusers, Tony was definitely a disloyal, tricky, cunning, temperamental crook. Hustling his was through life along with his ‘ business associates ‘, stealing money through insurance scams or any kind of shady business plans, along with his passion of breaking people’s faces for money in underground matches.
The bitter man lived with his worst sins hanged around his neck, sugarcoating it for no one -- even his temporary dates that kept the bed warm, but never more than a few days. Quick to replace, quick to forget -- Tony didn’t believe in heartbreak and romance that stings with its delightful memories in the cold, lonely nights. However, a tough beauty before him brought a splash of pleasant sensation bubbling in the muscular chest. Shoulders always tensed, ready like a finger on a trigger, seemingly relaxed. “ Didn’t expect for you to jump right back into my arms doll, but that tone is a bit harsh, no? “ Slight British accent shaking with a deep chuckle.
Information about her dating status lifted up the corner of the lips in a playful grin. “ Ruined all the mate’s chances to win you over? You really are making me feel special. “ Man on the ground released a mumbling sound, attracting the glacial orbs filled with irritation. “ Then you would not mind me flexing those fists again, love? “ Less a question than a potential warning of what follows, not caring about curious gazes around them. However, strangely conflict gained a second place next to the unusual amusement with seeing his ex. Returning the gaze to Renata, Tony recalled their turbulent past. If he would have to be painfully honest -- this one surely was special, definitely different from the others. Unexplored territory sang to him despite the rules written in stone. Flexing the broad neck that made a cracking sound, Tony closed some distance between them. “ Go for a drink with me and save this lad from another beating, what do you say? “

Honesty was a gift he received suddenly, unexpectedly, but certainly did not deserve. Flames of her emotions flared by the behavior as a result of his inner struggles. Discomforts. Fears. Something too complicated and dangerous to even think about, let alone debate on. However, the more waterfalls of her sorrows fell down the silky smooth cheeks he dreamt about kissing each day after their departure, the more the walls of his steadfast behavior broke. Causing others pain never burdened him, but the weight of her sorrow nearly ruined the man. Howling agony in muscular chest, melting ice bergs of his savage like behavior, hardened composure now like butter. Maria was pouring her soul out, dropping all the walls just to make him realize how she felt...something he could feel was as impossible as it sounded, something she hid as well as him...and now admitted.
Not being able to take the sight of his lover crumbling so, his strong arms reached for her thin waist, pulling her fast, strong, but tenderly, until she didn’t crash with brawny surface. Rough palm wiped away the crystal drops, and voice shushed by the crash of their lips. The man kissed her passionately, starving like, with no hiding the feelings fuming off of him.
“ I wanted to bloody spare you the disaster, disaster that I am. “
First truly honest words, whispered between the kisses. His forehead rested on hers, but eyes wondering anywhere but on hers. “ You were the only thing that felt good. Only bloody thing I could not forget, dismiss, or just shake off or replace. You think I didn’t want to call? Come? “ he pulled his phone, going to the messages. Unfinished messages (18), he clicked it. All on her name, all half written, all apologizes never sent. Lowering the phone, Tony continued. “ I came to your house, but not to the door. I saw you..I needed to see you. But it felt...wrong of me to do so..” he admitted what he thought he never would. “ You can walk away, as you can see, I will stay away..but don’t ask me to forget you..because I never will be able to”
